Lot of people have floated the "Julie Kavner has throat cancer" theory in recent years, but this clip is the first that makes me think there's something to those rumours.

Trying to think, the last "name" rapper I can remember dying in a non-gun-related accident was when Shawty Lo's Audi hit a tree. His coffin was briefly held in state at his favourite strip club.

I've seen healthier looking men, but at least he can move himself about to a studio.

Based on nothing but "feel," but I've been working as a sub-editor for 15 years, most of that dealing with financial and business journalism, and Carl Icahn has been very quiet over the past six months....

Tom Metzger, former KKK grand wizard and founder of White Aryan Resistance, dead at 82. His death notice appeared in a local newspaper next to an advert for Jewish burial spaces

Could have sworn Bill Tidy was dead, so I did some research and found out he had a stroke last November.

Advent Avalanche Form Guide #4: Glynis Johns # Long-time DeathList favourite Glynis Johns, here pictured in her days as a fetish model for the original OnlyFans mailing list (2/– for full access) is still going strong, despite COVID sweeping through her retirement home earlier this year, and the death of fellow inhabitant Helen Reddy. Fun (not really fun) fact: "Sister Suffragette" was written in under an hour after a misunderstanding meant Johns thought she was going to be cast as Mary Poppins herself, and Walt Disney had to think on his feet to not offend her. Probably should have tried doing that with some of the blacks and Jews you met Walt, but hey. Anyway, is The Sundowner going to have her lights go out this December?

Tony Waiters, 257 appearances for Blackpool and five between the sticks for England, he was one of the last players dropped for the 66 squad. However, after his career was over he went over to Canada to manage and led them to their only World Cup appearance in 1986, thus qualifying him for this thread. Dead at 83.

The "they were gonna play them????" back-and-forth in those lists is stunning, but I doubt anything can top the fact that a proposed US adaptation of late-90s ITV brumcom The Grimleys was going to have Michael Cera in the lead role.

As opposed to the traditional Eastenders offering of rape, domestic abuse, suicide and Sonia Jackson?

Who is the best official James Bond?

It's Dalton and I really can't see any other argument with the possible exception of Connery for nostalgia's sake. The fact people are earnestly voting Craig makes me want to never sit near any of you people in a cinema. -
He had to die in the same week as Connery, huh?

Double-checked this. Mary Quant was born in 1930, although for a long time she claimed a 1934 DOB. So Mary Quant is ineligible for this game.
-
Got a team together but... one of the picks has a disputed date of birth. Wikipedia says one thing, Britannica says something else.

Looks like my "might be nothing but double-check if he's gone back to work in December" longlist note was overly optimistic.

Still healthy enough to throw his weight around and make sure all his properties are in agreement that Trump needs to shut the fuck up.

Great news: travelling abroad for the purposes of assisted suicide will not be impacted by coronavirus lockdowns.

I double-checked this. If I'm right, no "western" head of state has died in office since 2010 when Poland's Lech Kaczyński went in a plane crash that was totally not caused by Russia. And the last "first world" leader to die in office was even further back, President Thomas Klestil of Austria in 2004 who died two days before he was scheduled to leave office anyway.
-
Western politicians don't die in office.

Who will win the 2020 US Presidential Election?

Looks like it was Detroit what won it in the end for Biden. -

Some sympathy for those of us who work in the Fourth Estate. First election since 2008 I've not worked overnight, but still waking up at 5am to deal with American TV adverts on their news channels and drinking enough Red Bull to buy Leipzig a new training facility. -
Oft-discussed around these parts, there's a big Guardian interview with the scourge of early 90s British comedy here. What we learn that's new: he's no longer doing cocaine, he is still drinking heavily ("I need that half bottle of vodka"), his leg is covered in lesions from "some kind of cirrhosis", he's no longer taking psychiatric medication, he's returning to the stage for the Edinburgh Fringe, he has absolutely no money and he was nonced by a priest as a kid. Oh, and "he just hopes he makes it to his 60th". Which is in November.
