That's exactly what Lord Reith had in mind.

Fun (not fun) fact: "Arena" is actually Tina Arena's real surname. However, "Tina" isn't her real first name.

Which obviously brought to mind Valentine Strasser, the former military dictator of Sierra Leone who tried to change the country's national anthem to “Ain't No Stoppin' Us Now” by McFadden and Whitehead, and after being ousted ended up living in a council house near Coventry. Apparently he was "seriously ill" last January, so feel free to move him onto your radars.

There won't be an immediate obit as lifestyle writers don't work at the weekend. In fairness midnight on Saturday is the 100% worst time for anyone who isn't A Proper Celeb to die as a result, but I'd still be stunned if she doesn't get a write up in The Sun by Wednesday.

Samantha Last was rushed into hospital this morning and is currently in a comatose condition. A DNR order has been issued so I don't think she's too long for this world.

Please welcome to the 100 Club today Mr Stefan Zywotko. The Polish football coach's playing career was interrupted by World War 2, but as a manager he had a lengthy career in his home nation and later Algeria, where he led JS Kabylie to two African Champions League (then known as the African Cup of Champions Clubs) titles, in 1981 and 1990. Here's his birthday cake:

Death Anniversary Thread

Tony "Ludvig Borga" Helme died ten years ago today. A former star of Finland's version of Gladiators, a failed WWF main eventer (and apparently one of the most unpopular guys backstage in wrestling history) and member of Finnish parliament. He was elected to parliament under a pledge to rid Finland of drug addicts. Become a drug addict himself in later years, he made good on his promise by shooting himself through the head with a revolver. -
Mail will definitely come through with one.

Infanta Pilar, Spanish royal and presumably on some 2020 DDP sides, is dead at 83. No English-language obit yet.

Has any TV show ever gone from being absolutely fucking everywhere to forgotten overnight as much as Ugly Betty?

MEPs famous for stuff other than MEPing? Reinhold Messner was an MEP for the Italian Green party in the 90s.

Oft-picked-by-YW-theme-teamer Rocky Sharpe died December 5 last year, only being mentioned by reliable sources now however.

Who Do You Consider "famous For Being Ill"?

Thanks, appreciate you saying so. -
I do love the pretence that the early 2000s Deathlist wasn't just predicated on the oldest names listed as alive on "DeadOrAlive.org" or whatever it was. Or maybe I missed the times when Brother Theodore used to pop up on Noel's House Party.

And, finally, the 2019 wrap-up. Congrats to TJS.
