Finnish actor/director Jukka Virtanen has died aged 86. One for the List of the Missed, he was a DDP pick last year and I remembered his name because he was the last living main collaborator with Spede Pasanen, who is basically a God to every Finn. -
In fairness, horse racing isn't a sport in the US. It's kinda the equivalent of that Welsh ice hockey player from a few years ago that carked it.
-
K@van M@ddocks, who was a DDP pick in 2017, died earlier this month and got his passing QO'd.

Jessi Combs, a racing driver and occasional TV host who stepped in on Mythbusters while Kari Bryon was on maternity leave, has died in a crash aged 36 while attempting to break the female land-speed record.

Thought I recognised the name - his career basically ended when he called a ballboy a gay slur during a live TV game.

Well.... we were waiting for Ted Knight today in 1986. -
Let's flip it: worst ever Motown track? There's enough people on here who know deep cuts and obscurities that we might be able to get a good answer. I'll open the bidding with "It" by Ron & Bill, a novelty song attempting to cash in on the success of "The Purple People Eater". The "Bill" of the duo in question was none other than William "Smokey" Robinson:

So he's dragged himself out of hospital, apparently against doctors' advice, went to the stadium and coached in person. Impressive tbh. 1-1 away to Verona.

"Take Me Home Tonight" is known by everyone of a certain age (born between, say, 1980 and 1986) because it was on the soundtrack to "Grand Theft Auto: Vice City". -
Some lucky DDPers will be hoping to take him home tonight

Hit refresh.

Going to miss the first two matches of the season.
-
Did we all miss the update on Julian "First Dates" Fiano? Apparently still undergoing chemo according to this story, so he should make 2020.
-
There was some stuff out in the press earlier this year that made it sound like he was really fucked up from those strokes.
-
Great news. Here's hoping he has a very slow and painful fade into the ether.
-
Bunch of tweets out there seeming to confirm that.

Heading Nowhere goes provisionally second, lagging behind Thomas Jefferson Survives on average age of hits. Trying to find paths that lead to TJS not winning this year, assuming Ricksen is guaranteed to go before December 31st. Andretti and Goldberg both die while Susan Bayh and TJS's uniques stay alive? Is that it? Edit: Actually, Genesis P-Orridge dying and handing victory to Day In The Death seems more likely.

Go out and smash it. Like OH MY GOD.

Metro comes through with the QO.

French dance producer and right-hand man of David Guetta, Fred Rister, dead. Multiple DDP pick, should QO considering his discography (produced "I Gotta Feeling" for Black Eyed Peas among other stuff).

Katreese Barnes, two-time Emmy Winner as the music director for Saturday Night Live died earlier this month at the age of 56. Posting here as not only did she co-write some of The Lonely Island's early stuff (most notably "Dick In A Box"), but she was one-half of 80s R&B duo Juicy, who were of course sampled by The Notorious BIG for the song of the same name:

Occasional reminder that Wearside Jack sent his messages recorded over a tape of "Thank You for Being A Friend" by Andrew Gold, which would later go on to be the theme to "Golden Girls".
