Canadian politician and DDP pick Paul Dewar dead. I was about 20/80 on him getting a QO, but I've been surprised before.

People Who Are Dead According To Wikipedia...

Trans porn star Kelly Pierce seems to confirm it on Twitter: If this is all correct, you'd assume a Sun obit would be around within 12 hours or so. -
Couple of interesting characters dropping dead today: Rabbi Yechiel Eckstein, head of Israel's second largest charity, who had to fend off repeated allegations that he was actually a Christian and not a Jew. The majority of donations to his charity came from American Evangelicals rather than Israelis. Funny that. Gizella Bodnár, Hungary's most famous thief, who became a folk hero/legend for her repeated strings of break-ins during the 50s and 60s. She kept up the kleptomania in her dotage, and was last arrested for burglary two years ago at the age of 90.

If it's true, I hope he doesn't leave her all alone out here.

Will be inconsolable if Baz Weiss goes, ngl.

This post on the evolution of deadpooling is always worthwhile reading on how research has adapted over the years:

Weirdly enough, the Facebook group "Llandrindod Solutions", a place to discuss ways to improve the town of Llandrindod, has someone asking about where they could speak to the family of a Reg Pugh two days ago. Being as both Reg Pugh the footballer and Reg Pugh discussed here were stationed in Burma during WW2, are from the same area of Wales and are around the same age, we can assume it's the same person? Responses are all in the past tense, suggesting he's dead: https://www.facebook.com/groups/234530116634949/permalink/2099393870148555/

Didn't know he had a podcast. Anyway, this week's episode is a M*A*S*H* cast reunion if you wanna keep tabs on their various health states. Turning up are Loretta Swit, Jamie Farr, Gary Burghoff and Mike Farrell.

Healthiest I've seen Brian Knobbs look in years. -
Wait, what year was he picked? I'm missing him in the records...

As much as I'd like to start a thread for cruciverbalists, it may meet with some backlash. So I'll use this thread to post the death of Roy Dean at 91. He held the record for the quickest completion of the Times cryptic ever recorded (3 minutes, 45 seconds)..

Occasionally discussed around these parts footballer Joe Thompson announces his retirement. Having twice overcome cancer and scoring the goal that kept Rochdale up last season, he's probably earned some time off.

About time we started work on the picture sourcing.... who fancies lending a hand?

Imagine being his PR agent tonight. Fuck me, you'd just take a long walk on a short pier.

You will never out-obscure Not Gone Yet, But Still Forgotten. Their assorted Sanmarinese trade union officials, privy counsellors from Tristan da Cunha and king consorts from African tribes that don't even have a Wikipedia entry is the gold standard.

Here's a first-draft List of the Lost page. Built into the Wordpress function of the site, rather than the HTML-generated method of old. Should theoretically be easier to maintain, although those are famous last words. Thoughts? Should I bring back the list of accepted QO sources at the top so people can cross-reference?

The Mongolian picked last year was Bochijn Baast. Which translates to Mongol as "Бохийн Бааст". Which appears to be the name of the guy in this article. Well spotted.

Gonna assume The Telegraph had an inside track on it but the other media organisations were unable to contact a representative for Swift/an agent or whoever.

You're referring to this, right?

That's your Clive Swift dead.

Arrested or maybe not arrested, but definitely back on the marching powder:
