Literally was just coming here to start an Elvis Costello thread. With the subtitle "looking to meet up with Ray Charles".

"We're got a show about America's black patriots, who's the obvious person to get in for a voiceover?" "Robert Culp"

ECW must also fall under this ruling, thanks to Chris Candido/Balls Mahoney/Mike Awesome/John Kronus.

Claude Lanzmann, director of "Shoah" and DDP pick, dead. QO should be along within hours I'd guess. Edit: yep, less than an hour.

Also (stolen from Twitter and I can't be arsed to fact check) apparently Vader's death means there are no WCW PPVs with every competitor still living any more.

You can't argue with facts.

Always thought Aimee Mann was a bit of a meme musician, but there's no denying this is a banger that deserves its yearly runout today: -
Fucking hell.

Richard Swift, mid-2000s lofi indie prospect, has died at the age of 41.
-
Probably more pertinently he was the writer of all Welsh-interest obituaries for the Indie.

Cursed show alert? Completely forgotten two-season reality series Blood, Sweat and Heels. First Daisy Lewellyn died in 2016 of bile duct cancer (symptoms of which were first spotted by makeup artists on the show). Now the programme's lead "star", Melyssa Ford, remains hospitalised after her Jeep was hit by an 18-wheeler.

Joey Maxim, the only man to stop Sugar Ray Robinson (who he's pictured with here), died today in 2001. After his boxing career ended he starred in the first "nudist musical", Goldilocks and the Three Bares. It was not a commercial success. -
Theme team pick Brad Weston killed himself in 1999. Can't see any news reports on the actual death but this piece about the passing of his daughter (a stuntwoman who was left a quadrapalegic after a botched car set piece on the set of Cannonball Run) mentions it.

Same day Luther Vandross died. Safe to say there's "never too much" of your posts DDT. -
She was the union rep in "Getting On" as well, probably the only truly great BBC sitcom of the past decade.

OK, this on-the-record press briefing from James Mattis says, re Fazlullah, "bottom line - he's dead". I think that counts as official western government recognition.

Vanessa Lafaye's last manuscript has been completed and will be published in November, setting up a possible end-of-year decider if any literary supplements review it. -
I'm 85% on a Butts obit. I think the Danny Dyer connection will see him clear.

Roll up, roll up for: Father of a dead person Joe Jackson Father of a dead person Paul Lamplugh Not a father of anyone Myrtle Allen Last of the Rabbit Proof Fence girls Daisy Kabidil And "gets a mention because they worked at the BBC for ages" filler Paddy Feeny.
