One of the main reasons Sutcliffe got away with it so long was because information was still held in filing cards, so cross-referencing evidence was effectively dependent on someone memorising 250,000 names.

I even wonder if Bishop Quinn was as on the clock as we first thought: he has been in that hospice since December, maybe he's treating it more as an "end-of-life-facility", a half-way house between a hospice and a retirement home.

Antonio Mercero, director of old Channel 4 late night "this will fuck you up" favourite La Cabina, dead at 82. Weirdly I checked a year or so ago to see if the actor from it was still alive and a suitable DDP pick, but he died in 2009.

This is clearly going to be the DDP pun when he goes, btw.

Seventeen years since Marlon Brando died aged 22. Not Richard Pryor's roly-poly fuckbuddy, but Marlon Brando from beloved misogynistic one-hit wonders Sporty Thievz, who weren't a big fan of pigeons. Was killed by a deli delivery van. -
Adam Parfrey, man behind the publishing company Feral House, has died aged 61. They were one of America's leading underground publishing houses in the 1990s, providing the definitive works on Ed Wood and satanic heavy metal, and also published works by Anton LaVey, The Unabomber and Joseph Goebbels. Big influence on The X-Files, unsurprisingly. His dad, who also died at 61, was character actor Woodrow Parfrey (Dirty Harry, Planet of the Apes, Papillion).

Richard Keys, Andy Gray and Peter Reid discuss how great Qatar is for five minutes, and then Keys threatens war with Saudi Arabia over broadcasting rights.

There was no Carry On on ITV4 this Bank Holiday Monday, I blame that heinous omission for her diagnosis.

Euthanasia deaths do count for an unnatural bonus, mainly because so few people who announce them actually go through with it.

Tommy Burns (here pictured with your mother) died today in 1955. The shortest heavyweight boxing champion in history, he was also the first white boxer prepared to regularly fight black opponents and was the man dethroned by Jack Johnson as world champ. His real name was Noah Brusso but he changed it to appeal to Scottish-American immigrants. -
I'll throw a begging bowl out when it's all done.

Looking at Cagematch's listing for Busick drove me to YouTube to watch Sid squash him in under a minute back in the day. Which then led me to this: Koko B Ware, of all fucking people, absolutely hamming on some jobber:
-
Busick took up two whole pages in the blue WWF Merlin sticker album back in 199(2?) despite never making a PPV event. Cagematch says he only actually had 8 TV matches during his "Big Bully" run.

Well... I've done it. Hopefully we should have a new DDP website and process for 2019. I even hired an American to do it.

Scott Hutchison, frontman of Scottish indie types Frightened Rabbit, hasn't returned to the warren. Couple of ominous tweets from him recently as well:

Very excited by the possibility Simon from Blue's cousin could be the next Lewisham East MP.

MMMDP Form Guide #35 - Kavana While the Yanks have Celebrity Rehab as their holding pen for deadpool picks, over in Perfidious Albion we use Celebrity Big Brother. Why not shy away from the normie call of Daniella Westbrook and instead go with Kavana, who checked into rehab last year and has been fighting drink and drug issues ever since he.... I don't even know. I thought he sang "Breath Again" but that was Adam Rickett. Also, his knee looks like an aerial photo of Terry Nutkin.

Lara Saint Paul, DDP pick and the woman who brought aerobics to Italy, dead at 73.

So oft-referenced, rarely watched music hall act Wilson, Keppel and Betty (the Egyptian dance ones) were actually performing into the mid 1960s, although the role of "Betty" turned out to be a revolving platform as numerous young hopefuls provided the energy alongside the then-aged Wilson and Keppel. The last Betty was, I believe, a woman called either Jean McKinnon or Jean MacKinnon. She then vanishes until 1980, when she turns up running a gay bar in Birmingham. And after that, dunno. Surely "The Last Betty" would have got an obit somewhere if she'd gone?

Best death immediately following a comeback gig since this lad
