Fun fact: Claudio Abbado, a scoring pick for DQSP in 2014, is alphabetically the earliest hit in DDP history. Frank Aarebrot, who died on 9 September this year, was a pick in previous years, but nobody plumped for him this time round.

Weird DDP fact: until this year's edition of the DDP, neither of the Smothers Brothers had ever been picked.

A spin-off thread, perhaps more for extra-curricular than here, that I've always wanted to create is where we definitely list movies that the entire (known) cast is 100% dead from. Outside of, like, Swimming to Cambodia, it's very hard to do because so many movies have a guy listed on IMDB who did nothing else with their career (see: the bailiff from 12 Angry Men). Similarly, there's one actress in Guys and Dolls who vanishes after about 1960 that holds that film back from getting a black tick. Any interest in such a thread?

When I was 8/9, someone bought me the Bread board game for Christmas. This was not appreciated.

The "Sheriff of Hell" Peetie Wheatstraw (or at least the most famous of the numerous artists who used the name 'Peetie Wheatstraw', if you believe the stories) handed in his badge today in 1941. -
Please welcome Ms Diana Athill to this exclusive club. As she herself says, “The world is in a ghastly state and actually I’m quite glad not to have to live through very much more of it”

The son of former Manchester City megastar Bernardo Corradi is suffering from a "serious illness" in an Italian hospital. -
Especially for guys whose fame is not matched by their bank balance (he was a podcaster in his 40s, I can't imagine he was paying for the best healthcare).

Turns out enough people were mentioning his death on Twitter to force the Mirror to shit something out.
-
Dead. Be interesting to see if he swings a Guardian obit through their music coverage.

OK, has the time come to consider whether she's actually just bull-shitting with all this?

Justin Credible's fell off the bandwagon pretty hard

Ah but what about William Frankland, who spent three years as a PoW and still found time upon release to invent hay fever?

Italy's minister for transport between 2008 and 2011, Altero Matteoli, dies in a motorway car crash.

Here's a photo of Jeannette from earlier this year. Are those rest home curtains?

Jeannette Charles.

Tom Zenk's become the ZZZZZ man, dead at 59. One of those nutjob wrestlers who for some reason were never considered a deadpool punt.

I'm guessing this now means any Attitude Era roster member, no matter how minor, is guaranteed a Mirror obit. Anyone know how Muffy Mower and Babu are doing?

In latest Tugboat Taylor news, one of the aforementioned minor Texan wrestlers he trained, Jasper Davis (mainly worked Booker T's Reality of Wrestling promotion but made some TNA appearances) has been arrested for murdering his girlfriend and dumping her body in a ditch.
