Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Predictions

Tears at how they bent over backwards for years to keep The Monkees out because they're "not rock 'n' roll", but as soon as the media profile drops they make massed allowances for letting any vaguely popular act from 1978-onwards in. -

Perhaps overshadowed somewhat by the death of that guy from the t-shirts, 50 years ago today Joseph Pilates found his centre: -

L'homme du train is a great movie if you've never seen it. -
Assumed this had been bumped for the passing of Filipino philanthropist Washington SyCip.

Old school garage deck-fiddler Major Ace, most notably of the Pay As U Go Cartel, dead at 36.

Another Calciopoli-related death for you: Aldo Biscardi, creator/host of long-running (in various formats) TV show The Monday Trial, in which the weekend's football events were analysed in painstaking detail over a period of four hours, dead at 86. He was implicated in the Italian match-fixing scandal, allegedly for taking instruction from Luciano Moggi on what topics to avoid during the show. He was suspended by the Italian journalist union as a result.

I don't think that the people who cover world events or rock icons dying in the news room are the same people on the Hull City beat, Roey. Having said that, I didn't pick our Les this year out of a fear that his obit would be limited to the BBC regional pages. Same reason Keith Welch didn't make the cut, although Welchy's doing significantly better now apparently.

The band Marilyn Manson did have one of the better rhythm sections in mainstream rock of the last 90s, but Christ I could have done without his vocals/lyrics/presence at all.

Peace out Lucky.

Bert I Gordon? 95 now, could be a nice two-yard putt at the bottom end of the DL next year.

Should keep a journal of the people who enter into that list, call it the Turner Diaries.

His son also died in one of the weirdest celeb-related deaths of all-time: asphyxiated by a collapsing sandcastle. -
