Of wider note due to one track in particular ("Last Men Standing" from the soundtrack to Django, Prepare A Coffin) on account of its later use as a sample:

I really need to know more.

Fuck it, I'm on it.

Same thing happened in the UK with notorious pisshead/occasional TV chef Keith Floyd in 2009. Had a documentary about his life and career broadcast at 9pm September 14th, later turned out he'd died around 6pm the same day.

Might as well have a place to shove all the rumours/Twitter gossip in, or we can just use this when his mum/wife goes instead.

Just a quick listmania following Der Kaiser's death. Still-living Ballon d'Or podium-placers pre-1970 Karl-Heinz Schnellinger (3rd 1962) Gianni Rivera (2nd 1963, 1st 1969) Denis Law (1st 1964) Dragan Džajić (1968 3rd) Gigi Riva (2nd, 1969) Law obviously on the DL and presumably a Drop 40 for this year. Rivera looked pretty good in this interview for his 80th birthday last year. Džajić is still active as head of the Serbian FA. Riva still turns up on Italian football coverage now and then but he never had the healthiest lifestyle. And I have no clue about Schnellinger, any of our German boardmembers have any inside details?

At this rate (3 hits in 8 days) the entire DL will be dead by May 14, 2024, or, as most people will know it, the 5th anniversary of Grumpy Cat's death.

RIP to a man who, even by the high standards of 20th century footballing legends that went into the administration side of the game, took a shitload of bribes.

I'm in, probably my only chance of winning a pool this year.

And that's the first good rule/advice for a new Cup runner to remember, is to always keep your inbox empty (of course you can open up a thread).

Also getting in on the hot new YouTuber announcing their imminent death from cancer craze, gun reviewer Paul Harrell dropped a "goodbye" video today. 816,000 subscribers so he'd have made DDP requirements, not too confident on him making it to QO though.

Big if true.

One of the weird oddities of Barczyk's slow passing is that some of his socials still have automated posting on, his content team haven't paused them. So while he's gasping for oxygen in a hospice bed somewhere, on Facebook he's "posting" videos today showing him gallivanting about with snakes and his plans for new water tanks at the aquarium.

If so, we could mention that two-time real tennis world champion Pete Bostwick Jr died in 2022 at the age of 87.

A mere 46 years after Matthew Garber. Has any other actor outlived their screen child by a longer stretch?

There doesn't appear to have been a "Christmas at the Rancho" video for 2023 - possible sign that, at 105, Elisabeth Waldo's years are finally catching up with her? There is a mini-documentary on her from 3 months ago uploaded by the same account, so I doubt she's died off-radar. Also, the fact that she is now appearing regularly in SEO-bait "oldest living celebrity" lists makes me think she's guaranteed a QO.

Mick Wheble, who was banned from everything racecourse in Britain last year for sending threatening tweets to a variety of jockeys and trainers, died on December 30th aged 75. What that Sun article doesn't mention is that he also had an MBE for services to greyhound racing and wrote two children's books. Odd character.

Was this an actual thing circa 2010

I associate this look a lot with the kind of "indie rappers with a vague EDM sensibility" movement of like 2008. Often paired with a kaffiyeh and pharmacy-store sunglasses Here's a good example on the right from Cool Kids: -
