I had Liz Monks as a possible for 2016 but I thought she was just a few too many steps divorced from the top of her organisation to get the Guardian public sector obit. Let's see how it goes.

Damn, first Karl Fletcher gets murdered and now this?

He died about nine months ago iirc....

Woj's old mucker, Czesław Kiszczak, dead at 90. There are now no Communist-era PMs of Poland still living.

Is Deathlist Too Permissive Of Banter/abuse Of Posters?
Spade_Cooley replied to Deathray's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
Ironically, maybe the respect certain posters have for the forum elders is the problem, and upstart newjacks like Deathray and the other gormless fuck are exactly what the site needs to continue in its olden traditions? -
Is Deathlist Too Permissive Of Banter/abuse Of Posters?

dude I was also there and they were quite serious. Also it may interest you to know that you were one of the users they talked about banning Didn't there used to be a rule that what was said in chat, stayed in chat? I thought that only applied to PMs or private chats. Literally nybody can walk into chat and see whats just been said about them. To be honest, it would bother me not one jot if I were to be banned. This is not a real place and, here, Im not a real person or summat. When we used to do chat years back ( even using MSNchat) nobody whinged like a girl about banning people because they were rude/nasty or otherwise. It pretty much sums up the state of the forum nowdays, there are too many people bringing their proverbial handbags up to their chins in mock horror. If you dont like certain posters dont interact with them,if posters are crossing 'the line' the Mods will deal with it, not the pseudo ones. Ive never asked for anybody to be banned, even when they went way over the line and bought my personal grief to this place. Basically, grow the fuck up or piss off, the place will survive without you or me or anybody else. Seriously, its all gone a bit pathetic. I agree with everything you've said, the admins saw it differently from what I heard. But at the end of the day it's down to whoever owns the forum to decide content. since you are active now can you tell me what users were being considered for banning and the reasons Nobody specific - just the people who fling insults at random people for no reason. Doesn't take a genius to make inferrations from that. But as they pointed out, there'd be very few regular, high-volume posters left in this place if that was implemented. I hope you buy a boat with a hole in it, go out to sea and drown. -

Great thread -
Utterly terrible Telegraph football writer Paul Hayward writes about his battle with cancer here. As with his sports copy, it contains very few pieces of useful data and lots of irrelevant waffle. May still be a pencil job for 2K16 though.

Who Should Be On The 2016 Deathlist?

Wonder when Prunella Scales is gonna get the DL call up, her alzheimer's is apparently so pronounced she cannot remember any details of her 53-year marriage. -
Brian Lomax, co-founder of Supporters Direct, helped set up the first supporters trust in football (at Northampton Town) in 1992 and, most importantly, the nominal captain for my 2016 DDP team, dead.

As one wit said, her dress, like Chelsea, had no coverage at the back and little support up front.

They were all in the Celebrity Auctioneers thread, draw from that what you will. -
Philip French, Observer film critic for nearly 50 years, dead at 82. Was still filing copy this week.

But then, this is the part of the year when you should take all reports of a celebrity's illness on these boards with a large grain of salt.

Add LS to the list of "probably does have cancer, was 100% lying about its stage to get out of prison". Could drop dead tomorrow, could still be around in 2019. Wouldn't waste a 2016 pick on her.

Denis Norden to die late November and get himself a nice series of tribute programs in the Xmas TV schedule.

Was watching The Quiet Man on one of the minor Sky channels at what must have been the exact moment she carked it. I give it 7/10.

Looks like he's definitely in hospital but how serious it is is a matter of gossip site conjecture. No smoke without fire/throat cancer though.
-
Assuming the cancer comes from his former 20-a-day habit, I'd say there's about an 80% chance of him going by the end of 2016. Can see him being a definite drop 40 pick and a DL item as well.
