Three leadership changes at the top of the DDP in three consecutive updates, must be a first at this late a point in the game surely? It's gonna be a proper slobberknocker finish, no matter who wins.
-
And here's the BBC obit.
-
Chinese dissident, and the alleged orchestrator of the Tienanmen Square protests, Chen Ziming died earlier today. Will be a unique hit for me on the DDP if the obit comes through.
-
Good news for Jimmy Snuka then.

It's that time of the year where we can start with our "fuck, he was a nailed-on pick for me next year" posts. So here goes: Definite 2015 pick for me, Ox Baker, has apparently died aged 80 according to Jerry Lawler. Would have assumed he'd have got a UK obit based on his role in Escape from New York if nothing else.

I think I've got a nailed-on UK obitable "celebrity" under the age of 50 who should be a unique pick for my joker next year, so let's see.

Are there documented victims of this curse? A bunch, yeah. Ettore Sottsass and Rob Fisher both died between HMHB recording songs that mentioned them and their release, meaning that "The Ballad of Climie Fisher" never gets played live. Others who died within five years of being mentioned in an HMHB track include: Alex Haley, Stan Mortensen, Gordon Jackson, Lev Yashin, Vitus Gerulaitis, Salvador Dali, Telly Savalas, Johnny Kwango, Arthur Lee, Andy Warhol, Willie Rushton and Ted Moult, who actually committed suicide within a year of "D'Ye Ken Ted Moult" being released.

The new Half Man Half Biscuit album has leaked, thus giving us a chance to see which namechecked celebs will fall to the "Curse of HMHB" (the fact that notaries that feature in Nigel Blackwell's lyrics have a propensity to drop dead soon afterwards) in 2015. On first listen, my money is on 1970s easy listening popster Mac Kissoon, who will turn 72 next year.

Hopefully this cruel illness won't rob him of his fond memories of beating the shit out of his wife.

He was good in Columbo.

The latest from everyone's favourite non-famous Welsh drag queen sounds less than fabulous: -
Carmelo Simeone: not Diego's dad, didn't actually play in the WC but was on the bench for all Argentina's 1966 games, including the light-hearted celebration of sportsmanship againt England in the quarters, dead at 80.

Hughie Fury, trainer to the Fury fighter family and Tyson's uncle died last night.

Whoopi, Jonah and Bill must be shitting themselves

So, we probably need to come to an agreement here... what's the deal with ISIS hostages who are "next to be executed"? Do they fall under the death row ruling because ISIS defines itself as a state, or would they count as assassinations and thus be playable as DDP15 picks?

It's amazing he hasn't already had that as one of his song titles. (er... if he hasn't that is) He did it for the Rocky IV OST
-
And there's your UK obituary, just for a laugh.
-
It's too late Paul, you better get straight... Guess who has two thumbs and is now DDP #1 again? THIS GUY.
-
Ricki Starr, one of the first British wrestlers to headline in the US and a World of Sport regular back in the late 60s, dead at 83.

Herman Wouk raped my dad.

Yeah I'm guessing he is what you could call a very aggressive outpatient. The guy already says motherfucker 300 times a day in normal life, imagine what he's like at the moment lulz. Long distance lorry drivers get a raw deal when it comes to working conditions. they're expected to deliver by a deadline regardless of road closures and adverse weather conditions. Plus sometimes the hitch-hikers they pick up fight back and they have to cosh them with a steering lock before they rape/murder them.
