Don't think there's any doubt an obit will be forthcoming, may even make it to NYT levels.

DL Status Updates: Statements, Obsevations & Verbal Tennis
Spade_Cooley replied to Lord Fellatio Nelson's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
I'm trying to absorb what it all means as well, it's going to be a big change to anyone who uses the internet for research, not just deadpoolers. When you add this to how useless Google is these days and the Reddit API travails.... -
Morris Mitchener made headlines as a three-year-old in 1996 when his parents threatened to sue a local production of Peter Pan for being too scary. He was a regular reference point of mockery by Lee and Herring during their Fist of Fun days, but the gags were cut out of the DVDs a few years ago due to further threats of legal action. I'm pretty sure this GoFundMe is for him, and he died in January of this year.

Jose Fuentes was a politician who became chairman of Uruguay's Nacional football club in 2021. In just over a period of 18 months he personally convinced Luis Suarez to return to his childhood club after 16 years, led the club to the Primera Division title, fired two managers, developed a bacterium in his heart that required five weeks of hospitalisation, and died. Vincenzo D'Amico, part of the infamous nutjob Lazio scudetto-winning team of 1974 but never capped for the Italian national team, dead at 68. Was also the last player to score a goal for the original NY Cosmos during a friendly in 1985.

I'm gonna hold a day or two until we have additional info... if none comes forward I'll have to make a decision. Which nobody wants me to do.

Telenoche says, via Google Translate: So maybe a VAR check will give this one?

People Who Are Dead According To Wikipedia...

The first in an (very) occasional series of posts looking at a deadpooler truism - that a celebrity selling their home is usually a sign they're on the way out. Here's the "celebrity homes on the market" stories from TMZ this past month (ignoring anyone too young, unless you think Kaley Cuoco should be on the 2024 DL). Danny Bonaduce - selling due to a neurological disorder, but he says recent surgery has been successful. Rod Stewart - on the market for $70m but he's still touring, so probably nothing of note. Bret Michaels - this is more like it, how the fuck is this guy still alive? However, he is still playing gigs, you can catch him with Sammy Hagar and Rick Springfield on the Rock Legends Cruise if you don't like music. Dr. Paul Nassif - from Botched, top plastic surgeon. Brother died unexpectedly last year. Madonna - this news came out before the revelation about her recent hospitalization. John Fogerty - also still touring. I think this round of updates might be a bit of a dud.

The main two obits I've seen so far are from a Greek website I'd never heard of before and that ComicBook one linked upthread. Neither have a comment from a representative and both were clearly just writing based off of the Wikipedia update. I'm pretty sure he's dead but looks like we're going to have to wait until his agent turns his phone on for any real proof.

Jason Alexander reported Gilbert Gottfried's death about two hours before anyone else had it as well, does he just hang around Hollywood emergency rooms?

Final day of the month, my inbox is open.

Can confirm that Jason stories are very, very common knowledge among fourth estaters. I can only assume the reason they haven't come out is because 50% of cable channels would shut down if they couldn't fill their schedules with endless documentaries about OFAH.

Daniel N. Paul may have been the ultimate "will Yahoo get around to mirroring any death reports?" pick for this year's DDP, but there were no worries about a QO in the Deathlist Cup. An elder of the Mi'kmaq First Nations peoples of Canada, his 1993 book We Were Not The Savages was the first historical tome written by a First Nationser and was seen by many as Canada's answer to Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee. alt obits guy gets to wear the ceremonial headdress and it seems like our final is now set in stone. alt obits guy 11 vs DevonDeathTrip 3 gcreptile 24 vs Banana 16

Someone coming on the show and reading a list of 20 19-year-old celebrities who all have stage 4 cancer that's spread to their brain couldn't make me watch an episode of Steph's Packed Lunch.

Sub-250-post members: this is the kind of content you should be bringing to the forum, not "hey Dick Van Dyke is old anyone thought about picking him?" And you're right.

I'm resigned to the fact that we'll probably never know if/when the Mardi Gra bomber died - he moved into complete obscurity after leaving prison and I wouldn't be surprised if he was a) already dead and b) lived out his final years under a false name. But what about the guy who inspired him, ex-copper Rodney Whitchelo? Whitchelo blackmailed Heinz after putting caustic soda and razor blades in jars of baby food, resulting in a series of children being hospitalised. When he was released from prison in 1998, he said in an interview "I now have my own computer firm". Which, looking at Company House, would presumably be this: Stelon Computer Consultants. So we have a full name (Rodney Frances Whitchelo), a rough time of birth (March 1947) and a correspondance address (Hornchurch, Essex). There can't be that many Whitchelos out there... I've skimmed through a few Whitchelo-surnamed Facebook accounts looking for "photos of my old uncle Rodders" but no joy. Anyone fancy taking up the baton?

Mini-documentary about subterfuge in the highly competitive world of speed-typing.
