Right, where were we? Well, we can now cross "small-town morning radio show DJ who entered hospice late last month" off the DL Cup I Spy card, thanks to the passing of Dave King. King hosted a number of radio shows in the Lubbock, Texas-area going back to his airwaves debut in 1968, and his death is a unique hit for gcreptile. That would have put him six points clear, except Banana has fired back immediately with Ronnie Coker. Coker was a baseball coach who took Captain Shreve and Parkway to LHSAA state titles, before leaving sport and becoming a Christian motivational speaker. aog vs DDT remains pointless. alt obits guy 0 vs DevonDeathTrip 0 gcreptile 10 vs Banana 10

Jeff Gann, aka longtime WCW jobber The Gambler, being reported dead.

A true "how the fuck is he still alive" figure, seemed to never stop having heart attacks. Also for ages (possibly still?) his Wikipedia page was written by his son who hates him.

These recent long-list additions aren't have much staying power, huh?

So am I right in saying this was the timeline of events: 1. ITV bosses knew that Schofield was having a legal-but-morally-dubious dalliance with a young runner, didn't really care because whatever 2. Holly Willoughby decides that she wants Allison Hammond as her co-host not Schofield. 3. Schofield shows no interest in stepping down 4. ITV bosses decide to throw Schofield under the bus to get him to step down 5. This all blows up in their face because Willoughby's insincerity is plastered across her forehead.

Forget if we'd discussed Russ Cook, the man who is documenting his attempt to run the length of Africa on social media, here. From the look of this video, things aren't going great:

Think I can break news of a death on the forums here: as far as I can tell, no other site has yet noted that John Hetlinger died last month at the age of 89. He quite rightly achieved his 15 minutes of viral fame in 2016 thanks to an appearance on America's Got Talent:

Vicki Manning of Pawn Stars UK, who filled the Corey role on the show, died on February 14, 2021. Despite her getting plenty of newspaper appearances while the show was on the air, absolutely no mention of her death anywhere other than her dad's Facebook page.

Popbitch email this week seems to be subtly implying that Eamonn Holmes is throwing a large number of boulders in his glass abode. What a shame it'd be if his career collapsed as well.

After some days stuck in the weeds with rules and regulations, we're throwing Shade on the funeral pyre. I did have a great statistic that Beverly Shade had wrestled the most matches in WWWF/WWF/WWE history while still having a 100% record (10 matches, 10 wins around the turn of the 80s, mainly as the tag team partner of beloved pimp/sexual abuser The Fabulous Moolah), but apparently Antonio Inoki wrestled 11 matches under the McMahon banner and won them all. Anyway, like Inoki Shade is now dead, and both gcreptile and Banana kick off the round with a captaincy hit. alt obits guy 0 vs DevonDeathTrip 0 gcreptile 6 vs Banana 6

Yarborough is in assuming Plater died last month, but then I need to decide whether we have a deadline on finding a Plater death date or if we've got until the end of the month.

OK, so my take on this is: DDT's original entry for the round called Travers a "noted figure in Alaska's Catholic scene". However, his second message to me about his team clearly referred to the Tijuana-based one. If there hadn't been that second message I'd have said "well you have to play the still-living Alaskan and hope he carks it this round", as I did when running the DDP and someone typed "Betty Wright" when they meant "Betty White". But as we've got a second message here.... I'm allowing his pick to remain as the now dead Tijuana lad. Not much sign of a QO at the moment though. Beverley Shade update to come.

Same, I think I have a solution but I'm going to wait a few hours to make sure I'm right.

This YouTube Community post was made around 5pm on June 1st GMT, and says he died "last night". So that is looking like a May death unless anything else comes to the fore.

WORDS FROM THE COMMISSIONER: Around 8am this morning I received a message from DDT confirming his replacement captain, following the death of Brother Camillius, was your favourite and mine, former vicar general for the Archdiocese of Anchorage-Juneau Father Pat Travers. However, it has since been discovered that Travers' death was made public in a Facebook post around 9pm last night. While at no point has the management of the DL Cup suggested any impropriety on DDT's part, it was decided that in the interests of CFP (cadaver fair play), that he select a different captain for the round. We now await any QO for Travers.

New round line-ups coming a bit later on today, I had an ill-advised kebab at 10:30pm and spent most of the night throwing up as a result.
