Not "pop" by any stretch of the imagination, but Conrad Schnitzler, one time of Tangerine Dream and Kluster, has died of cancer. A half-page obituary in Wire awaits.

Radio executive Michael Bukht, better (only) known to the general public as Michael Barry back when he was the big cheese on Food and Drink in the early 90s, has had a fork stuck in him aged 69. He was also the first controller of Classic FM.

In fairness, Eric taught Conor Clapton to read at a really early age. He could get through 40 stories in five seconds. -
Yeah, I'm in.

Peace out Hightower. I forgot that Tackleberry was already dead. The guy who played Commandant Lassard, George Gaynes, is still with us at the age of 94 for those of you wanting another Police Academy castmember for the list.

Sailen Manna, who was captain of the 1950 Indian nation football team that, urban myth has it, withdrew from the World Cup because they weren't allowed to play barefoot. He's 86 and still with us, could be an outside punt for those hoping that sport columnists might fill up their final paragraph by mentioning that he's carked it. -

The guy who played the lorry driver in the has pleaded guilty to the manslaughter of his wife. He apparently faces jail and, idk, from the look of him I don't fancy his chances inside. -
It's OK, we've got a new candidate to replace Winehorse: former Big Brother contestant and Mike Tyson "acquaintance" Aisylene Horgan-Wallace has been accused of "encouraging" Amy's final volley of drug abuse. Or maybe she's just gone on TV as part of a desperate attempt to piggyback someone's death for her own flagging fame. Who knows.

Ken Hom, who was really big in the UK in the late 90s and nobody seems to remember shit about him these days, has apparently got the all-clear from his cancer.

Only one UK newspaper makes her death the main story on their front page today (the ever reputable Daily Star). She has also fell out of the trending topics on Twitter both globally and in the UK after less than a day. That's gotta be a disappointment for her. Jacko stayed top of the TTs for something like three weeks.

Nah, not at all. She wasn't a "get your cunny out and pop bottles in the club" type, she was a proper heroin addict who shot up with junkies in rundown apartments.

Gerd Muller goes missing for 15 hours before being found "in a confused and disorientated state." Alcoholism? Alzheimers? Alien abduction? All three should put him on the radar.

I think it's more that a) the story of the day is now not Murdoch empire receives grilling from parliamentary committee but "old man hit by pie" the pie-r in question 1) got beat up by a Chinese woman 2) got dumped by his girlfriend over Twitter after she found out what he did.

Watching it live. Is this Rupert Murdoch or Junior Soprano?

I had £10 on Priti Patel being next Prime Minister at 50/1 a few months back, so Cameron better fucking hold on for a few more years until she's a feasible leader.

This makes him the second member of X Japan to have hung himself in just over a decade. Still never listened to a note of their music, but I think they were like "the band" for Japs in the 90s. So I see. The former lead guitaritst Hide. This is what apparently happened following his death: "Within one week, three fans had died in copycat suicides, and of the 50,000 people who attended his funeral in Tsukiji Hongan-ji, nearly 60 were hospitalized and about 200 received medical treatment in first aid tents." I think a similar thing happened in England when the drummer from Feeder hung himself.
