Maybe swimming was a little exaggeration (something I believe the Americans do well) Floating may be more apt. Or even sinking, waving wildly for assistance

Well, given that I have been namechecked, I thought I should add my tuppence worth. So, for all those sassenachs out there who like to disparage the great Scottish football teams of the past (not to mention the present) - and you know who you are! - can I direct your attention to a fascinating little site Unofficial World Champions Here, you will see that Scotland have been world champions (unofficial) for far longer than any other country Read 'em and weep

Not being a fan, I may be wrong, but it sounds like 'Ballad of A Thin Man' from Highway '61 Revisted. A little extract... You walk into the room With your pencil in your hand You see somebody naked And you say, "Who is that man?" You try so hard But you don't understand Just what you'll say When you get home Because something is happening here But you don't know what it is Do you, Mister Jones? You raise up your head And you ask, "Is this where it is?" And somebody points to you and says "It's his" And you say, "What's mine?" And somebody else says, "Where what is?" And you say, "Oh my God Am I here all alone?" Because something is happening here But you don't know what it is Do you, Mister Jones? and on and on and on ......

That is a shame. We haven't really had any religious zealots since Eileen stopped posting in the Sister Lucia topic. Anyway, good to know you have a life, and don't just spend your time 'crusing' the net like the rest of us 'lost bunch'. Oh, and nearly forgot. Got it in one. Well done. See, no flames, just a couple of sparks

WTF is it ?? You think a musician can survive for 40 years without any talent.....what utter rubbish !! He's truly a legend. His lyrics are powerful and has more meaning in it than the life itself. "Tambourine man", " Blowing in the wind", "Knocking on the heaven's doors", "i'll be your baby tonight" ,"I shall be released","lay lady lay" , "dirge "......etc are matchless creations...........he's truly lving legend. Mr Tambourine Man - 1965 Blowin' In The Wind - 1963 Knockin' On Heaven's Door - 1973 I'll Be Your Baby Tonight - 1967 I Shall Be Released - 1971 Lay, Lady, Lay - 1969 Dirge - 1974 All I can say is that the songs you pick to illustrate your view seem more to support the Guest post that he found his niche in the 60's and has survived on it until now. Now, if you had used the more modern classics, such as The Times They Are A-Changin' -1964 Like A Rolling Stone - 1965 Just Like A Woman - 1966 All Along The Watchtower - 1967 we might have taken you more seriously (are you sure this list is right - Ed) Course, I will credit Desire as a great album, and one of GR's favourites as well.
  15. And here is a link to confirm Wal-mart heir Not sure he would have passed the famousness test. Perhaps one of our American cousins could correct me. Edit: Posted before I spotted Football Fan's link in the Near Misses thread.

Oh, and for that little bit that Ronnie forgot to add. You don't know any of us outside of this forum - and yet feel quite free to call us 'seriously f**cked up people'. So, see if you can make a 9 letter word from these letters h y p o c r i s y Clock is ticking....

The downfall of the catolic church? What downfall? Perhaps it is just a very slow downfall....
  19. Whilst he may be capable of doing the job without being on the take, that doesn't mean he does. Bit like saying Michael Jackson is capable of keeping his hands out of young boys pants....

    Pope John Paul

Okay, just a couple of points. JPII was born 18th May 1920. When Germany invaded Poland on 1st September 1939, he was 19, not 7. He was at University until the Germans closed it, and then forced to work as a messenger and labourer, before entering seminary in 1942. Benedict (PapaRatzi to his media friends ) was born 16th April 1927 (so 7 years younger then JPII). He was a member of the Hitler Youth from 1941 - 1943 (it being a legal requirement to join) although he claims he refused to attend meetings and rallies. In 1943 he was dratfed into an anti-aircraft unit (flak unit) along with many of his classmates. He was later drafted into the infantry, from where he apparently deserted in early 1945. He was briefly held in a prisoner of war camp, and released June 1945. Hope this helps clarify, but no doubt it will start some more discussions

Same here. Have tried my Dutch-English translator, but she was no use My nick translates litterally to "Skinny Henry". It's the Dutch equivalent to "Grim Reaper". Regards, Hein (not skinny at all) I never knew that the Grim Reaper's first name was Henry. To be honest, I was expecting something a little more menacing

If they typed it all themselves, I am impressed, but I fear a copy and paste job. I am sure that a link to the forum all the info came from would have served the same purpose. And so, with the powers vested in me as a Moderator, anyone wishing to see all the info can check out the Victoria Cross forum. PS - I realise it makes the last couple of posts seem a little strange, but if you check out the forum thread, you will realise how much was posted!

Errr, do you mean to say that you are enjoying the Bristol Blond in some kind of sexual manner? And he is typing whilst you are doing it?? Edit: Just spotted Magere's post. As they say, great minds think alike. Mind you, they also say fools seldom differ
