Would that be the toilet Behind the Green Door??
-
You never know - it may give the site a Boost

Maybe she just needs something to help boost her energy levels. A Mars bar, perhaps?

Obviously quite a few people did, but no-one famous that I can think of. Soul singer Curtis mayfield breathed his last on Boxing Day 1999, but my souvenir edition of the Times for 1 january 2000 doesn't contain an obituaries. Clayton Moore, he of Lone Ranger fame, made it to the 28th December, but the only person even remotely famous I can find for the 31st is Elliot Richardson, who was US Attorney General during the Nixon years, and refused to fire Archibald Cox, the Watergate investigator. For his troubles, Nixon fired him.

Drugs?? Guns?? A chip for both shoulders??

Ellen, you're not a bitter writer for the Telegraph are you? George was probably big news in Scottish papers because a ) he is a Scottish MP, b ) another paper was being crucified (the press love it when rivals mess up), and c ) it is doesn't involve cannabis or red light districts, the Netherlands are of no interest to most journalists.

Whilst probably not setting a record, perhaps one of the best known (at least in UK terms) hunger strikers was Bobby Sands. * According to Wiki, he started his hunger strike 1st March, and died 5th May. Although it doesn't say so, if memory serves he did take liquids. So, for Carlos we could be looking at a couple of months - Feb would be the key time. If he stopped taking liquids, and any doctors in the house can correct me, we would only be looking at 10-14 days before internal organs pack in. * I know Gandhi went on hunger strikes too - but it was the bullet that done him in, not the fasting.

Make sure you ask him how he's doing healthwise

Reminds me of the metaphysical poet, John Donne, he of the 'no man is an island' sermon. After falling out with his wife, Anne, he apparently wrote a little ditty... 'John Donne, Anne Donne, Undone' I know a certain Lib Dem MP who could do with reading some John Donne poetry

Slave, are you a youngster? - cos all us old fogeys know that 'wireless' is the name for a battery powered radio, back in the days before personnal cassette players and portable CD players.
-
Errrr, am I the only one that finds it ironic that you spend valuable time to post a message asking why we spent time posting messages???
-
After the death of Emlyn, I think you will find the scousers are still in mourning - not, of course, that I am implying that they all wallow in self-pity - someone else beat me to that one

Given that the criteria is quite simple a ) are they living? b ) are thay famous? c ) are the likely to die? I think Shelley manages a ) and b ) - only questions is does she meet c)? But before we pick her, what is the source for the report. I mean, we can't just go on hearsay....

Ivan Noble Can't seem to find Ivan being mentioned before, despite keeping an on-line diary of his battle with a brain tumour. Don't know if he would pass the fame test, although it is a cert that should he pass away, the BBC would report it on-line at least - and knowing the the way the press always have a soft spot for their colleagues in other media branches, at least one of the broadhsheets is bound to pick up on it. Not only one to watch on Deathlist, but possibly a joker (and unique pick?) for Derby Dead Pool?
-
Before we open up Deathlist to any possible lawsuits, a good time to bring a close to this ©rap

Oh - where to start Typical politician. Why give one response, when two will do, even if all they do is repeat the same message again? (Oh look - a question mark - usualy goes at the end of a question, but by the time of your second post, I take it you figured that out yourself!) Its something to do with talking twice as much as listening - you would have thought having two ears and one mouth would have indicated the correct talking:listening ratio Pardon!!?? All of us?? Knowing nothing of our ages, health, vices, that is a pretty sweeping statement - but then, why let facts (or a knowledge of statistics) get in the way of making a point. Errr, is this your webpage? The one with the running total of dead and wounded in Iraq? Can you arrange these words into a well known saying - pot, kettle, black? And I would hardly categorise visiting this site and posting the odd message as thinking about death all the time - thats like thinking that because you have 50 MP's you will form the next Official Opposition. Now that really would require therapy! Anyway, thanks for dropping in. Good to know that this country is well served by MP's who google their names to see who may be talking about them, and then have the time and committment to post not one, but two messages of reply. And despite the sweeping remarks and generalisations about us here at Deathlist, I feel sure I speak for all us 'sick people' with 'miserable lives' in saying that your comments have not altered the level of respect we have for you Cheers, Teddy

Perhaps time for a better class of musician. You may even want to listen to some of the sound clips, and hear what real music sounds like So, altogether now Sing if you're glad to be gay Sing if you're happy this way

And there goes another one.... World's Oldest Man Dies Grim Reapers suggestion seems more and more appropriate. Oh, and Frenzy - your pick of James Rockefeller was certainly prescient - he died August!

Although not as frail as Ronnie

Gerry didn't turn up for the opening of the Bill Clinton Library. From the Washington Post... Still an outside chance for this year then
-
Well, Bill opened his new library today, so seems to be okay. Bill's Presidential Library The link is to the Washington Post, and registration, whilst free, is required However, in the story you may find an interesting snippet. All the past Presidents attended, apart from Gerald Ford , who was 'unwell'. At 91, it could be that the next ex-ex-President in not Clinton!

Am I the only one who is a little bit worried about someone googling "Wayne Rooney" and "sexy"??? And if it is possible to die of stupidity, what is keeping David Beckham alive? Not to mention Dubya?

Or as my mother used to put it - every silver lining has a cloud

For the avoidance of any doubt, I edited Cyprus' post to make the quote more apparent - the only 'editing' done to the post. Having said that, Cyprus, should you wish to send links of this website / forum to anyone, please feel free to do so. We have been featured as a Guardian website of the week (or was it day - I forget), have appeared in articles across the world (some of which are linked in the pages of the forum), and come up in any google search. Our existence is hardly a secret. We do not censor those who disagree with us, and are willing to debate and explain our views. This is at odds with those whose only refrain seems to be that this site should be closed down. To those, I offer the words of Voltaire And now, ending on a pertinent quote, I propose to close this thread, which no longer appears to be about Fred Dibnah, and before it degenerates into a more abusive topic. Maybe then people can reflect on the above quote, and come to understand that free-speech comes with a price - namely at times having to be silent and listen!

Strange then that your name is Ol' Dirty Bastard's Mum, and not Rusty's Mom, which would have been much more believable
