Good call TF, I would agree with that And let's not forget one of Gore's main protagonsists throughout the 60's, the one and only Norman Mailer. On of my favourite stories relates to an appearance on some show, shortly after Gore Vidal had said there was a direct link between Henry Miller (author of Tropic of Cancer), Norman Mailer, and Charles Manson. Just as they were getting ready to go on to the show, Mailer turned and asked Vidal if he was planning to repeat that assertion. When Vidal said yes, Mailer headbutted him, and said 'Try it'. Vidal appeared on the show, very subdued, and even when asked by the host about his claims, refused to repeat them. One way to silence your critics!
