    The Weather

First proper storm coming in the South West England of the Autumn. Met office giving us 70 to 80mph gusts from 6am onwards. Have to say its blowing a hoolie out there enough to wake me up already.

    That Portillo Moment

Sarah Woolaston in Totnes wont get back in. She defected from Conservative to Lib Dem back along, but the old joke of a donkey in a blue rosette applies big style in the South Hams. It was strong true blue even during Blair era. Even if Labour dont stand that wont save her. Listening to local radio, theres a surprising amount of anger towards SE Cornwall MP Sheryl Murray and Cornwall could go much more Lib Dem meaning she could be in trouble.

    That Portillo Moment

And to think we have Ann Widdicombe standing in my constituency of Plymouth Sutton and Devonport. It's currently held by Luke Pollard for Labour, but it could be an interesting on to watch

Images that have been burned into your mind

A look and smell with me. Probably the look an ex partner gave me at the very start of our relationship as we were getting ready to go out as our first time as a couple. He sprayed on Jean Paul Gaulter Le Male and winked at me. Never had a look of love like that before or since (even with my ex husband). Everytime I smell that aftershave, I'm back in that bedroom on that Saturday night in July 1999.

    Holiday Thread

Well I lost both Zante holiday and Lanzarote next March. But I have my job, and I'll get my money back. Just stuck with 15 days annual leave to take over the winter. So I'll be decorating my flat next month now instead. The process of getting my money back doesn't look easy I have to say. But I'll get away next year now instead.

The Fringes Of Fame/family Of The Famous

Poor guy. Mother dies of cancer when hes 14 which is bad enough, but his Dad then took his life a few months later. That's enough to seriously muck a life up as a teenager.

    September 11th

Remember it well. I was at uni as a student, having been out the night before, was watching survivor from ITV on my video recorder and my mate yelled at me to turn on BBC1. By the time I drove into Plymouth the first tower came down, and all hell broke loose at uni campus. We just decamped to the pub to drink Guinness and watch the rolling news. Just a dreadful day.

    Boris Johnson

Now let's impeach him screams certain parts of the Press. If it collapses into chaos, can we do it from 15th October, when I'm in Greece..... after all, stopping air travel due to a general strike would do me and I'd get some extra holiday

    Death In The Family

I lost my last dog Will on Monday, at the grand age of 15 ( he just missed his 16th birthday by a matter of weeks). He had a stroke last Sunday evening and lost the use of his legs as a result. Must confess I sobbed like a baby at the vets even if I did the best thing by putting him to sleep. He was the last link to my ex husband, as he was originally his dog but after we split he never saw Will again, so a real mixed bag of emotions this week.

    Reality TV

As I’m watching the permatanned young ones on Love Island this year, it could be a watch for confused Amy (dumped by Curtis the Irish Strickly dancer) who was a week away from Hello wedding scoop in her eyes. She’s had to have counselling to deal with her broken heart after a 4 week relationship and not sleeping together in the fullest sense( yup I’m genuinely not making it up ). Then there’s Lucie. Cries at the drop of a hat, stalking Tommy Fury who is loved up with another girl. After 2 deaths from previous series these two could be worth watching.
