Political Discussions And Ranting Thread
msc replied to Deathray's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
They did put some campaign in on the last week when it was clear other nearby targets were done deals but the area covered by Croydon South has no labour representation at all and a lot of voters of the kind who find Kier Starmer too much of a radical socialist. It was always a long shot and Labour did well to come relatively close but there's a ceiling for them there. -

That seat was chalked off early in the campaign by Labour as unfriendly and they channelled resources into other seats. -
WCW star, close colleague of Mick Foley, ran the booking during a bunch of WCW's big years, and was the guy Chris Benoit nicked Nancy from. Also commonly linked to accusations of druidism in the 80s and conspiracy theories about the Benoits in the 00s. He'll get all the obits.

Serious health issues for Kevin Sullivan and hearing he's lucky to still be alive. https://www.gofundme.com/f/help-wrestling-legend-kevin-sullivan-recover

But also damning you limit it to three because despite her flaws, nah, Theresa May was better than him.

The team I sent Sean earlier this week. Rishi Sunak 2. Liz Truss 3. Jeremy Hunt 4. Grant Shapps, former Home Secretary 5. Penny Mordant, LotHoC 6. Jacob Rees Mogg, former LotHoC 7. Stephen Crabb, former leadership contender 8. Iain Duncan Smith 9. Jeremy Corbyn 10. Damian Green, who until now I thought had retired. 11. Theresa Villiers, former Cabinet member 12. Alun Cairns, former Cabinet member 13. Caroline Nokes, former Cabinet member 14. Simon Hart, chief whip (and former Welsh sec) 15. Michelle Donelan 16. Alex Chalk 17. David TC Davies 18. Chris Stephens 19. David Linden 20. Jamie Stone 21. Anum Qaiser (Hamilton iirc) 22. Sara Britcliffe 23. Derek Thomas (st Ives) 24. James Sunderland 25. Rebecca Pow Think most of them lost but bit sleep deprived.

Directly above us on this page. But in my defence, Ramsay is utterly forgettable.

Earl Wilmington founded an orphanage. Bigger legacy than Sunak IMO.

Nice quiet night really.

I know that. He was still a Tory MP.

Did you see her say "Boris's win" was more impressive?

Ian Levy the next Tory gone.

It's their worst result since 1761, for context.

When Tebbit dies, I shall extend my sympathies to Sean on the death of his uncle, but otherwise, you know my views on him. (Tebbit, not Sean!)

He was actually getting himself together after being off the wagon for ages during the coalition but it was too late. Before your time, Clorox but popular young Paisley MP Gordon McMaster killed himself shortly after the 1997 election. It turned out he had been in the closet over his homosexuality and been blackmailed by another labour MP, Tommy Graham, whom McMaster had looked up to. Very sad story. That seat became Mhairi Black's years later, incidentally.

Voted Labour for the second time in my life.

John is of the belief no party can lose over half their support and expect to hang on to over half their MPs. He's also stated that if we accept that twenty point drop then there's a lot of seats where the Tories don't actually have 20% of the vote to drop in the first place. And thirdly, that the Tory vote is doing worse where they are the incumbent. You know me, I trust experts but bloody hell what all this suggests breaks my brain.

I legit thought you'd brought up a Cecilia Twitter post here! Lammy not only has made contacts in every Western government for Starmer, he also got him a meeting with Macron at the D-Day thing. He's not being shifted.

I like Bridge of Lies. It scores on my four gameshow rules (play along at home, fairness, easily explainable, sympathetic host) so not surprised it's been a hit. Although three seasons in no contestants have twigged Ross's "are you sure?" is code for don't step on that one. The Gordon Ramsay Bank Balance show scored 0 for 4 on those rules and was one of the worst ones I've seen. -
Georgia will probably lose this but have been an absolute joy at this tournament.

The VAR was working like a charm these Euros until the English refs started using it.
