Hey now, I fought hard for my most stubborn DL poster tag. (JOKE - We all know I haven't fought for anything. Lazy bastard msc...) Aye, I have read them (many at time of posting) and am glad it's not wall to wall whore this and wall to wall bastards as much now, myself. Anyhow, the joke didn't really work for me but you know, half my jokes hit a brick wall. Then something stupid makes folk laugh. That's life. Ok, true story #1 At uni a friend used to call themselves "the fucking cunt" as a daft in-joke. We thought nothing of it, until the day one of their mutual friends came up to us in the bar , sporting a black eye, and said "You never told me that not everyone likes "How you doing, you fucking cunt?" True story #2. Not about my friends circles. When Mick Foley was publishing his first set of memoirs (he's up to 4 or 5 now), the publisher's legal department brought back several issues which needed cleared for fear they might be sued on publication. One of which was, genuinely, could anyone prove that Too Cold Scorpio had an enormous cock? To which Foley said he's yet to meet the man who would sue over that as libel! Right, as you were - back to Gooseberry Crumble's Joan Collins fantasies?

Oh wow, she's died? .... WTF is this? (Sorry, Willz, Ulitzer does have a point here, just as you have in the past about the very same!)

The Mail only 6 months or so behind Deathlist Forums, there.

Someone who is in a nursing home (not Denville) apparently - my theme team pick Richard Franklin, when not in hospital. Speaking of which, Franklin still recovering from "complex major surgery" according to Katy Manning.

' I admit Jim Breaks age changed 5 times during his trial, but he is about 85 and will certainly obit. Shinma probably- who was the last HOFer not to to get a QO? There's also a few routes for Eddie Sharkey - he dies roughly the same time as The Berzerker (the Brickhouse Brown route), or we get a "Bronn Breaker mourns family friend" type obit - but that's down the route of 50/50

My curiosity is stung - given surely Bret would have be talking about it if his brother was about to bite the dust, what Wayne Hart is this?
-
He was also Francis Pym (formerly a big DL favourite about 15 years or so ago) in The Falklands Play. And had a relatively small role in Edge of Darkness, which is one of the best TV shows ever made, and was turned into a fucking awful film. Def one of those faces that feels like they were in everything though.

Not only are my Punt Picks all still alive, some of them are actively undergoing exercise and diet changes to try and live longer!

She were grand in that and all. Sad news. One of those actresses who was wonderfully entertaining, even when the programme perhaps wasn't. Was great to see her show up in stuff like Father Brown in the last decade, too.

I'm just going to humour this for a second. Noting that the Russians are yet to gain aerial domination (which is really incompetent) and that a no fly zone would cripple the Ukrainian drones doing much of their defence... How are you planning for the "west" to operate no fly zone in the Ukraine? Would their jets be in the war zone itself and thus liable to be destroyed with precision striking? Or is Orban, Iohannis or Duda going to make an 11th hour u-turn against their own self-interests? We don't have the infrastructure capabilities or the geography to run a no fly zone, let alone the desire.

Alas, the Prime Minister can override the monarch, the civil service and even the security services over a knighthood if they so wish, and they have done in the past. See Jimmy Saville, who Thatcher tried to get a knighthood for 5 times before vouching for one on her resignation. Usually what can happen is the subject of a knighthood for someone is brought up in conversation between the Queen and PM before public announcement, and if the Queen is wary, a competent PM tends to drop it. However (and I have no idea if the Queen objected to this or not, so this is in general terms) if someone is as willing to complete ignore our unwritten constitution and "the right way to do things", then our system is utterly toothless.

Oh that guy, I saw him last week but didn't really consider him. Apologies if that's fucked over Grim!

Things To Do While Waiting For Death
msc replied to football_fan's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
I gave up on 5 because my geography ran out of possible places that could fit. To be fair, economically, weather wise (if you like warm weather), location wise and even human rights wise, Mauritius is probably one of the nicest countries in the world. -
Yes. Primary school - the Blitz, Vera Lynn (it was weird to have something I was taught about IN history as a wee kid be still with us nearly 30 years later!), Jewish persecution through Judith Kerr's memoirs, the Holocaust itself - grim learning for 10 year olds. Also evacuation. I've forgotten her name, there was this old woman (she died about a decade ago, she got an obit at the time!) and she used to go round schools and talk about her experiences in WW2 - anyhow, she came to our class and all. (This was a basic working class Glasgow primary, nowt fancy - just a really good teacher we had.) Secondary school - Rise of Hitler, German inter-war politics, appeasement. It tailed off somewhat when the actual battles started. Also the Liberal reforms of 1906-1910 as my History teacher at the time was a massive Henry Campbell-Bannerman fan. A phrase never used on the internet before, possibly. Attlee's government was covered, and in Modern Studies we did the 60s, but my teacher for that was a Thatcherite so it was from a downer perspective! (We had entire lessons on Anthony Meyers attempts to take down Thatcher in 1988. Who the fuck remembers Anthony Meyer?) There was a chance to meet Donald Dewar, but he went and got ill and then died instead, which I feel was really inconsiderate of him, as his replacement was Michael fucking Martin, who was shite! This was when we weren't looking at Scottish history. Over and over again. Mary Queen of Scots was only 44 when she died, you'd think there's only so many hours you can devote to her!

I did know of Mariupol thanks to their football team, but it looks increasingly like a place that wont exist in a weeks time. Russia exploding it and killing civilians until the city surrenders, which it hasn't yet. The sort of atrocity you were taught about in schools that the Nazis did. With Kherson falling, next in line is Mykolaiv, currently being attacked, which is where the folk I know of in Ukraine live. Fuck Putin.

This guy is fucking Gladstone or Churchill compared to Gavin Williamson. Which is how bad the Tarantula fan was, not a defence of Mr Loverman (Shabba).
-
I mean, less than three years ago, Gavin Williamson was sacked by Theresa May for leaking national security committee details to the press. In most other countries in the world he would have wound up in jail for that. He shouldn't even be in parliament, let alone have held high office again since.
-
Isn't it nice to have such a nakedly corrupt government?
-
Because they didn't do as he wanted. The most Russian speaking bits of Ukraine are fighting tooth and nail to stay Ukrainian, let alone the rest of it. At the risk of being a forum alarmist, I am worried that the targeting of civilians and kids is only going to get much worse. History shows up hard men fuckwit authoritarians are fucking dangerous if their egos are bruised in war. As for your second point, well, you see, and this may shock you, Boris Johnson is a complete cunt.

My fault for replying to his daughter's death report a year ago. A friendly mod ( @Death Impends?) can put them in the Star Wars (?) thread later?
-
Nope, though it was tempting, as you can see from above!

Cain Velasquez, one of the few MMA guys someone like me could name, arrested on attempted murder charge after shooting someone. Guess any rematches with Brock are off.

Brave recovery for someone suffering from pancreatic cancer.

Hah, I don't feel like a legend but never stop compliments! I don't think I've ever Squonked (to use the term) anyone in the Cup. There's a lot of potential in your side (Vitale could be another clever pick) so imo it'll be a good contest. There are no insects in Round 2 of the Cup, far better deadpoolers than I have been bashed out of this thing by overlooked competitors.

"Critical but improving" for a Drol named person usually equals "dead in three weeks"? Nah, it was a read between the lines pick. He's 93, he's frail, he had covid badly last year, and now he was "critically ill" for a minor upset tummy? I think he's worse than they're letting on. I could easily be wrong of course!
