Weirdly apt that you gave the other theme teams a hell of a summit to climb!
-
Ah I nearly forgot - please replace David Gulpilil with Susie Steiner then, thanks.
-
Oh well done Reptile, didn't realise it was over. You are on a roll with the deadpools lately.

Former Burnley captain John Pender (two promotion seasons back in the 90s) has joined the world's least fun sporting fraternity. By which I mean he has MND.
-
My knowledge of cricket is very limited, however, former Ashes winning captain = DL front pager, no? They love their cricket like I love a good episode of Dr Who.
-
Well that's a big one pretty much everywhere bar the DL itself. 84 DDP teams! Probably just as many DDP teams swearing and ripping up their 2022 entry forms. School made us sit through Rabbit Proof Fence.

Frank Williams had got to 32 points in the early lists, which have now trickled down to the great, the good and Jiang Zemin. Clarissa Eden was on one early list and her 11 points likewise have gone to living homes.

Next year.

You really can take a @Octopus of Odstock tip to the bank.

I had a good look over the notable deaths and if someone missed a 900 year old Uzbekistani poet, well, frankly, feck 'em.
-
Dunno yet, none of my potential Yahoo obits have had any staying power! If it turns out to be Pandoras Box next year I'm sure the new Cmme will work on it though.
-
One of the things we did (in 2020 even? I forget if it was for then or this year) was reverse TMIBs limits on ITV regional obits because it was unfair if folk got an obit in a major QO source but it was on the wrong page or only in the N Ireland or Scotland section. Spade did the same in 2019 for the BBC regional pages after one pick got 5 different BBC obits, none of which were accepted in the rules!
-
Yes, but STV do in their match report, and STV, like all the ITV regions, is a qualifying obit.

Thoughts and Opinions on the 2021 Deathlist

Des/Tom O'Connor, Lionel Blair, all old entertainers merging in my head, you know what I basically mean. Well, yes, if they bring back duff old picks, better old picks (King) find themselves out on the cold. DI said on January 1st it was a "rest on the laurels don't try too hard" squad. She was right. -
Thoughts and Opinions on the 2021 Deathlist

tbf it's been one of those years where a number of folk who would be good DL candidates died without anyone knowing they were in any danger. Des O'Connor for example. Although I will note that I don't believe the 15 or so bedblockers (the oldies on till they drop) on the list are responsible for the rotten 7/35 score for the rest of the list. It's all those on/off names like Loretta Lynn, Dick Cheney and Vanessa Redgrave and others who are nowhere near dying that are buggering things up. -
A lucky one, DDP wise, as he was on my shortlist for the old folks DDP team only there wasn't space. Unlike other misses, someone else got him for the first time in years!

I thought Leslie would go a decade ago when his wife topped herself and he was meant to be extremely frail and in poor health. Now I'm beginning to think hes one of drols immortals, lurking around every major celebrity death to go "Ding Gone, survived another!"

Well, Frank Gehry finds this post suddenly very ominous! -
Shame, Sondheim was an absolute legend (words I use rarely) who wrote some songs I love.
-
Well he was only an actor. Hardly worth an obit when there's 21 year old no name mums with bra cancer to squeeze misery clicks out of...
-
Tbf, none of us have considered that the GRO will go down for good when this nuclear war Crem keeps predicting happens.
-
Yeah, if grumpiness meant people were incapable of doing their jobs well, I'd be fecked.

iirc there was a poll on here last year about how many DDP hits would be covid related. I wonder if those who asked that are still keeping count, as we've had a quite a few of them this year too, alas. Sonny Chiba, Colin Powell and Glitz himself to name three...
