Bar taking the Crowdsourced off Joey's hands, which isn't really a game, you'll understand if I have no intention to run any deadpools for a while after January 1st!
-
It means Henry Lincoln and Chris Boucher are the only two Doctor Who writers alive from before 1980. (As far as I am aware, John Flannagan, co-writer of Meglos, is still around in his late 70s.)
-
Via his official twitter, Wallace and Gromit writer and K9 creator Bob Baker dead aged 82. Sad news, one of those underrated kids TV heroes.
-
Ah tell out your soul, the greatness of the shortlist? My shortlist are mostly all dead now, tbh.
-
Yes, somehow Miriam Margoyles is still with us, despite looking half-dead in every interview...
-
One of the ten teams scoring with Lionel Blair is @Rotten Ali, who is back in the DDP after an absence. Which is nice.
-
Sounds like typical Lady Colin Campbell fanfic to me!
-
Well, it'll be fixed (sorry folks, no extra point there) but that'll be down to Lionel Blair being an old school pick from back in the day, and he used to claim he was younger than he was!
-
3 hours, Gooseberry, yer slacking!
-
One of those names who seemed 100% DL fodder of the future, but always seemed insanely healthy for his age when he showed up on TV.
-
He was Roky the slightly nutty witness in Jose Chung's From Outer Space, one of the best X-Files episodes. "Agent Mulder? Some blankhole found your blankety blanking UFO!" (It makes sense in context, young ones...)

The Denville Hall move is this year, she was convalescing at her home in January. Covid utterly fucked her lungs and she needs an oxygen machine pretty much 24/7. In the video above you can hear and see her struggling for air after each sentence badly. She also had emphysema before covid. It sounds like this move is probably permanent and not long term, sadly.

Ok, here's a list. Spoilered as its full of grotesquely healthy people, but I direct your attention towards Allan Dorrans (severe covid, was on a ventilator, still ill), Amy Callaghan (suffered another stroke this year, cannot travel), Rosie Cooper's MIA status from the Commons and Twitter, and Sir Paul Beresford's suddenly rare Commons appearances. Which is 1 serious illness, 1 "will survive but is disabled", and 2 "hmmmms". Oh and Baroness Greengross has been unwell of late, according to a recent speech in the Lords.

With the way this year has utterly disappeared, and how busy I am, I will forget to do this if I don't put it up now. So here you go... This Sunday sees nine weeks till Hogmanay, somehow, so debate who should go on the list here. The 2017 list saw 21/50 hits (so far), a fine performance THE RULES Rules 1. Please send a list of celebrities you wish to vote for to msc, during the time period of 25th November to the 31st December 2017. The list must have a minimum of 12 names on it, and a maximum of 50. Please send them by PM, not by email, semaphore, Morse code, Deathlist live chat, animated corpses, text messages, or any other means of communication you can think of. 2. Your 1st choice will gain 50 points, 2nd 49, etc etc to 50th which will gain 1 point. 3. When the deadline passes, all of the points that an individual celebrity gain will be added together, and the top fifty celebrities with the most points overall will go on the Utterly Unofficial Forum List. 4. Feel free to add substitutes at the bottom of the list, which will only be counted if one of your fifty die before January 1st 2018. If for example your number one pick is such a smart one they die before January 1st, then I will give 50 points to your 2nd pick, and so on until 1 point is given to the first substitute. 5. Do try to make the picks as "Deathlisty" as possible. More Lily Savage and less Sophie Sabbage, if you know what I mean. Someone likely to score an obit with one of the major English language news outlets. 6. The deadline for sending in entries is 31st December 2017 at midnight. That's 7pm New York Time (31st December) and 11am (1st Jan) Melbourne time to help out non-Brits. 7. This is essentially a forum game without a winner. It does however put the long held notion by some that the combined minds of the forum know better than the Committee to the test. 8. Who picked whom will remain anonymous. Unless the person announces it of course. 9. The paranoid probably shouldn't send in their DDP unique hopefuls. Whilst I do not intend to steal them away, it would make no sense: if the person then showed up on the list, their chances of being unique would be very slim indeed! 10. To keep to the Deathlist spirit, only the top 25 ranked celebrites from the current list of Crowdsourced Deathlist 2017 survivors will be used: Leah Bracknell, Kirk Douglas, King Michael of Romania, Prince Philip, Rev Billy Graham, Robert Mugabe, Jacques Chirac, Desmond Tutu, George Bush Sr, Olivia de Havilland, Leslie Philips, Former Pope Benedict XVI, Vera Lynn, Jimmy Carter, Glynis Johns, Clive James, Gina Lollobrigida, Herman Wouk, Stefan Karl Stefansson, Queen Elizabeth II, Sidney Poitier, Denis Norden, Ian St John, Sumner Redstone, Mikhail Gorbachev, Joanne Woodward, Monica Vitti, Jill Gascoine and Nanette Fabray. Some names there I don’t think anyone expected to be in contention for 2018, but there’s still time in 2017 yet. 10a) Our actual collated list will stick to the "25 from the previous year" rule. 10b) As a result, if our top fifty, after all votes have been counted, has more than twenty-five of the 2017 survivors (named for ease in Rule 10), then the lowest ranked excess survivors will be axed from the list in favour of The Fifty-First ranked celebrity and so on... 10c) Since we don't know if that'll be an issue until I actually do the counting, voters don't need to worry about limiting their personal lists to 25 survivors. It'd be nice if they did, but that's life. 11) Please pick living people. Folk do die before 1at January, but there were a few cases of people dead for a number of years chosen last time. Please do not pick animals, or ISIS prisoners, or kids, or any of the usual no go areas. Anyhow, enjoy. Or not.

Johnson isn't President yet! Yes, although to be fair to Biden, 3 cars were him and his security detail, and 19 cars were the press following him, who got the same police escort...
-
Gone full on anti-social and staying away from them, tbh. But today we had 6 protests, one Presidental motorcade (22 cars), and Greenpeace nearly destroyed one of the major bridges across the Clyde.
-
Aye, though the move to hospice care a few months ago would probably have seen him on the Drop 40 had he lived another 2 months!
-
I hear the sound of some people tearing up their 2022 teams! I hear the sound of MANY people tearing up their 2022 teams!
-
I love how you wrote a book which defended Yoko and are still the one making this gag. Never change, MPFC!
-
I think a number of people are going to be surprised when Charles eventually becomes a really dull and uncontroversial King for about 7-12 years before snuffing it and passing the crown to his son.
-
Aww man, not Tongo. I had all his many UK number one hits, loved his duet with Nicole Kidman, and found his BBC sitcom interesting. It's always the household names that get ill...
-
As I've been on podcasts and like Last of the Summer Wine...
-
So he wont be unique. *tears up shortlist* (Kidding, kidding, just diagnosed so I'd have kept him to the side for now...)
-
Well, duh she should be on the 2022 DL, and the 2023 DL. She's old enough, famous enough and while her health isn't "she'll die tomorrow", she's clearly starting to age. By her standards, which is glacially, of course. Bigger question for me is not will the Queen be dropped. It's "when does Pope Francis get on the list"? I feel like he's going downhill at a faster rate than even Benny.

Toby just genuinely gets on with nearly everyone. I know folk who hate each other with a passion who are only united by their respect for Toby. Also, its a podcast where famous comics nominate their favourite Dr Who stories for Toby to watch along. So it's 99% Hadoke with an intro from Quantick. As for David Quantick, he used to write for The Day Today/Brass Eye, including iirc the Peter Sutcliffe Musical sketch. He also, iirc used to deadpool. Then he started complaining about others using that same sense of humour on folk he liked. (He complained about Steven Wells being a DDP pick, pretty sure Wells is the one guy who'd be least offended by the DDP in history.) He was on that UK Gold Best Comedians panel (Roy Hudd's last public appearance) and got a laugh from the others for calling a famous act "Saunders and French". So yeah, was regarded as a good comic writer, his comic pals find him funnier than I do in person, and he shows up on far too more Channel 5 talking head shows with his Michael McIntyre style observational "humour". I don't find him funny and find a bit of a hypocrite tbh, but nothing against other people liking him.
