Paul used to have a different name too iirc and changed it not long before the wrestle died! Wasn't... Leon Brittan posting here before?

Clapton is a cunt in general, mind. Compare that stance to Neil Young, who won't go back touring until his audiences can be safe. His words.

Co-headling Farm Aid with the great Neil Young in September. Form spotting opportunity.

    Badly timed deaths

Prokofiev (who is in my book one of the greatest classic composers) actually lived on Red Square, and so his friends had to move his body down an alleyway to get it away from his house as outside was packed with Stalin mourners. I know you know that one, but it might interest some of the others. The other famous historical one, I'll leave to @Death Impends...

    Badly timed deaths

Yeah, I meant "thread", not "friend", d'oh. I do remember Mother Teresa dying because the front page of the paper had the Pope crying about it, next to a picture of a bullfighter goring. This was on holiday in Germany and the non-Teresa headline read "Finally the bull wins!"

    Badly timed deaths

Was that really 5 years ago? Of course the scenario I mused about will never happen as everyone thinks about unique jokers and then picks someone off the Drop 40... If it did happen it'd be a fluke to one of those lowly teams like the reality TV ones or the rookie draft one... There was another thread similar to this about badly timed deaths. Although it was started when Roger Moore died on the same day as some terror attack, and 4 years on I forget which terror attack but remember Roger Moore dying, so it was a bad example.

    The 100 Club

@Ulitzer95 Victor Ross of the Readers Digest who we both noted at some point (He was on my long list when he got past 100 and he's on your Who's Who list) is dead. I found a Times obit from June while doing some longlist tidying there. Victor Ross, 101: Reader’s Digest chairman who reached 1.5m monthly sales | Readers' Lives | The Times Escaped Nazi Germany, worked his way up from copy writer to chairman and turned the Digest into a massive selling thing via direct marketing and snapping up publishing rights to stuff like David Attenboroughs books in serial format. I like the Times line that:

    Room 101

It's still there but you need to go to Google.co.uk, not Google.com. It's a non-US add-on. Pictured attempt with a random Google search from 2 mins ago.

    King Charles III

Well the last time that happened (the monarch outlived the heir) was Prince Albert (what a cursed name!) in 1892. He was the son of Edward VII and would have been King in 1910 but died ages before from the flu. Anyhow, he was weeks off getting married when he snuffed it, and so his bride to be... wound up marrying his brother George instead, and became the Queen Mother anyway. A chain of events I don't foresee happening to Camilla!

    King Charles III

I still think the Queen has a decent chance of continue the royal family tradition by outliving one of her own kids (basically either every Monarch OR their spouse has outlived one of their own kids since the Tudors iirc) but my gut feeling was Andrew keeling over from recent stress or lack of sweating.

    Andy Fordham Memorial Darts Thread

I've heard of Priestley if it helps, Willz. Pretty sure he was still around in the Sky Sid Waddell and co "Spoiler - Phil Taylor wins" era. Other than the big 2, it's him, James Wade, the Scottish guy (Bravedart), Priestley and that's it for late 90s/early 00s. Apparently Bravedart was a chap called Jamie Harvey who is 66 now and retired from darts due to throat cancer... "He never won any major tournaments" says Wiki which yeah sums up my meagre memories...

    Wrestlers/actors

Michael Elgin arrested again for another suspected case of domestic abuse on yet another ex-girlfriend. (Not the aforementioned scientist wife, who told him to fuck off after the whole "covering up the rape of one of your students" thing came to light, but this is the 2nd or 3rd time stories like this have come out about him with different people.) He also went missing briefly last month. His story is only going to end one way.

    The 2021 Deathlist Cup

Thanks. It was beginning to look like a terrible error that I picked the "best" eleven names on my shortlist and not names 12-22 who can't stop dying so far!

    Electoral Deadpool

Do you ever get that moment where you see a name on this forum and you immediately think "Oh that's a shame!" before your brain can twig wrong age, wrong thread, wrong everything? Well, that!

    Queen Elizabeth II

Yeah, my gran used to stress quite noticeably about my grandad's failing health, but when he actually did die, and the immediacy of the loss was over, it was like she lost ten years off her age because, as you say, that constant worry was now over.

The Fringes Of Fame/family Of The Famous

Apparently the chairman of Elstree is also the same Morris Bright who is Tory Deputy leader of Hertfordshire County Council. And he got his MBE for services to the Tories, not for his role in cinema history. Nowt to do with his or her love life, just a trivia tidbit I discovered looking for his age which felt worth sharing!

    Jair Bolsonaro

Frankly, if it were ever proven that Bolsonaro was demonically possessed, I'd feel quite bad for those poor demons.

She also wrote several books (including a biography of her late husband), penned a number of scripts including episodes of the great Public Eye, and as the tweet implies, was a major player in two of the big UK celeb scandals of the 1960s. Although in fairness, she was a relatively innocent party in the first one who took the (media) fall to protect another womans career. (Although most of the stories from that period just suggest John le Mesurier was far too nice to be an actor - like the time Joan attempted suicide after Tony Hancock beat her up, and then John forgave her and nursed her back to health...)

    Derby Dead Pool 2021

Also at this point, due to changes in his real life circumstances, DDP 2022 will be the final DDP Grim Up North can work the Excel sheets for teams entering. I can't tell you how many standing ovations that man needs, but anyhow, the call is now on for anyone who can use Excel to volunteer to take Grim (and Reptiles) role in the 2023 DDP. With my Cmme hat on, the more people involved in that, the merrier.

    Derby Dead Pool 2021

Welcome on board DI. I have no doubts you'll soon far surpass my efforts. Death Impends was my top choice as a potential DDP co-host so I am delighted she has accepted the honour. As for me, you'll still be getting my crap jokes on the front page for another 6 months or so while changeover plans continue behind the scenes.
