Like a few of the Glasgow seats, it strikes me as the type of place that would drop the SNP quickly if their voters thought they could get rid of Boris (which no one clearly thought in 2019). Its sort of ebbed and flowed according to the national SNP position whereas some other seats have remained fairly consistent - Chris Law's seat now seems fairly safe Nat for example.

I forget one of them. The other. So we're only in the "mitigating late circumstances" period and its 7.30am on New Years Day, and your favourite grumpy Scot here is hungover considerably. At which point my phone goes nuts. Emails, Facebook notifications. Whhhy. The emails were for PMs on here from Sir Creep, who started at raging at everyone mode. The Facebook messages were from Boudicca, trying to play good cop. The gist? Sir Creep went over to Scotland - note I couldn't see my own mum, but never mind - to his love nest, then back to America Land on Hogmanay. He got stuck in covid test hell sans internet and missed midnight so was asking for extra time. And assuming I could just change the rules UNILATERALLY. So I woke up Grim (who was rather fucked off by this) and Reptile (who is the fucking Zenmaster*) and added Creep into a Cmme PM meeting so he could see us grumble. And at this point, the mitigation zone still had 3 hours to go. Which may have been mentioned already. The Zen Reptile told him he had an hour to put in a team, SIr Creep grumpied away and put in a team, the adults won out. Anyhow it got averted and sorted all within the usual time. *Seriously, that guy is shockingly calm about things. The entire system crashes? "Dont worry guys, I've got a can of beer here, I'll just go through 9000 lines of code to find the corrupt one...." and he fucking did it and all.

Adventures in DDP hosting this weekend. Last year I had to look up the new names on the dreaded Not Gone Just Forgotten team. That's Reptile's joy this time. I had to look up the annual female porn star team instead. Might have mentioned this to mrs msc. In hindsight, I could have phrased it better than "I've got four more porn stars to deal with, I'll sort them out as quickly as possible." I think that's made her year so far, she's still laughing!

tbh a few of them I had to google but they were "oh yeah, them" type actors ie her from Poseidon Adventure. Geoffrey Chater was on Talking Pictures twice at least in last few months - episodes of Callan (awesome show), and episode of Armchair Theatre. Oh and Special Branch too, iirc. And Endless Night (Agatha Christie with added Britt Ekland nudity) and 10 Rillington Place too. Huh, he's in The Verger (Tales of the Unexpected) and You Have Just Been Murdered (Avengers) too. Apparently its easier to list the stuff I've no seen him in. Funny how some of these actors can be in dozens of things you've seen and you never twig its the same guy...

Hazel was a weird one. I liked that one with Peter Bowles as the journalist/detective. Lyttons Diary. He's one of those actors you don't realise how many things you've seen with him in them. Another Talking Pictures fave (apart from Hell Drivers shown twice a year, as recommended as any film with Sean Connery and William Hartnell together can be!) is The Iron Maiden. Nowt to do with rock music. Michael Craig races around the countryside in a clapped out traction engine. Want one! He's still going and all, btw. 93 this month.

Been watching Enemy at the Door every Sunday for a few months now. First time viewing. Alfred Burke is always good to see in these old shows, although I had completely forgotten Bernard Horsfall died a few years ago. One of those big alive type actors if you get what I mean. Talking Pics is a brilliant TV channel, likely to have at least 2 or 3 films a week worth taping to watch. Hard to believe the entire channel is run by 2 or 3 people only!

There's only 3 real types of DL "miss" and even one is...debatable. 1. Those Grim Reaper goes "Oh doh, what a miss, we nearly had them on the list!". Can't recall this happening in recent years - Tony Hart an example of this from a while ago... 2. Those who were on the list, drop off and die. But again, only 50 spots. 3. The seeming DL Cmme fave type pick they forgo, based on their previous. ie Howard Marks. But the Cmme are unto their own... Not every single A lister (or hell, C lister) in the UK who dies are a miss. 99.9% fall under the "that's a shame, they'd have made a nice addition" rather than a miss. Hell, I could have given you a list of 200 celebs (hypothetical here) who "could" have died last year and Geoffrey Palmer wouldnt have been anywhere near it. Nor Diana Rigg. It's a fact of life with about 10 known celebs dying a month per average and 50 spots on the DL, many people who feel like they would be DLy will die off the list. That's just life.
