ngl this is Scott Thorsons year for the Drop 40...
-
Pan Breed has been officially entered into the DDP for the 10th year in a row. Where did the time go? Willz has a copy of my main team if he has trouble with insomnia (it's very dull), so as to ward off those annual "you stole my unique attempt mentioned 17 times on the forum" people. So you can now tell me all about your off-radar picks to your hearts content as I can't steal them even if I wanted and I have a Death by Numbers team to fill up.
-
Nowt confirmed as he's very private about his health but from his rare public appearances this year, imo, yes. Last time he spoke on TV he was struggling to piece together single sentences.
-
Danny Hodge will no longer be making a spirited bid for contention for any long lists, as I'm afraid he's just died.
-
Its quite subtle but I'm beginning to think our pal Deathray might not be a royalist...
-
Compared to some of the folk picked this year he's a household name. He used to appear on Newsnight a lot during the Bush era, him and Glenn Beck.

I like your theme teams, the Top of the Pops one is always a highlight. Although the 36 years ago concept is catching up with my birth date at a speed which is frankly unnerving!
-
Do you mean 12 Lords a Leaping? (Of course I can't be the only to notice it's currently 7 lord, 8 ladies...) Because that's never been treated as a theme team. (Hence the lack of THEME next to the name). Willz just likes to apply parlour game criteria to his main team. Now you could argue it's more of a theme team than some of the teams accepted as some in the past but again, hard criteria allowed. Technically it might even ban some of my "cheeky bugger" former theme teams (see they wont get obits...) but my "bung them on the DDP" team is pretty specifically not a theme team either.
-
I'm befuddled. Firstly, Willzs theme teams are TOTP acts from a specific year, and UK TV comics, so quite narrow reference theme teams. Are you confusing him with someone else? Secondly, I have not been mute on the matter. I'm referenced in the quoted post. How much plainer can I put that teams which used to be accepted as theme teams but were Diana Rots type teams or just 20 men/women with no connecting theme are now out. People who come from Detroit? Fine. People who went on I'm a Celeb? Fine. People who were on Reptile or DI's winning DDP team the year before? Not a theme team. Gris Gris? Fine. Gray Panthers? Fine. All About The Men? No longer competing in the theme team league. Apart from the obvious, one team that has been vetoed as no longer being a theme team is the bizarre Death is International, and one that got a reprieve is The Survivors, as the last survivors of specific things (ie Carl Palmer, Barry Gibb, the last surviving Mama and Papa, etc) is a theme. tbf after some of the grumbling earlier in the year, my vote was to get rid of the theme team league entirely, so you can thank Reptile and Grim for out voting that and arguing succinctly and suffiently for reform. Also, the forum wiped this post first time round instead of posted it, so it can stuff its fucking autosave fail up its fucking arse.

DL Status Updates: Statements, Obsevations & Verbal Tennis
msc replied to Lord Fellatio Nelson's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
I'm quite fond of the person (there's always one of them) who, when the news story is "so and so died today", they post "hope they feel better soon"! -
With the addition of Libby II, Ros Carter and...Timothy West, we can all enjoy a Family Fortunes edition of Sean's polls!
-
Given, with a few facile changes, it's Theresa May's deal from TWO ELECTIONS AGO, I can only assume its because our government are a bunch of useless wankers. (I know you said no need to answer but they really are useless...)
-
I'm Scottish, we don't really do cricket for the most but... ...I see Sir Cunto has missed out on the minor news story called Brexit. (Open goal...)
-
Tbf it wasn't a suggestion. More a prediction of the type of name they might go for!
-
Just the way you said that reminded me of the Chewing the Fat Jackal sketch.

28 January

Who would be the most annoying, as a DDP co-host? Tom Smith. So picked.
-
I've no idea where the French comes from! If it fails, just send twenty names (and 3 subs) to the email address (And remember a team name). It's not a dealbreaker, just a time saver.
-
Totally expecting one of you lot to do a "Whale vs Limbaugh" poll on January 1st, of course...
-
Oh I was competing for the wooden spoon, I heard it in the shop hours after TQR''s post on December 1st!

Trintignant passed the Mum Test, in that she brought him up in chat. Gupilil is one of those "Not the name but the face" folk - lots of us been forced to sit through Rabbit Proof Fence or the 70s one (showing my age) in school classes. Not really DLy but who knows what goes on in their minds bar "Pass the Guinness"? I wish I'd never heard of Limbaugh. We have a bunch of Cleary's books at home, of the 1950s style where not a lot happens but people live happily with their dogs, but imo if the Cmme wanted her she'd had have appeared by now. Ditto, alas, James Lovelock. A potential DL pick we might all be sleeping on is "93 in 2021" Lionel Blair...

Both count. Five unique hits pretty good going. Even if entire team unique, none of them were at deaths door on Jan 1st iirc.
-
Aye, agreed with th... Steady on, now!

Tbh it amuses me that the thing that makes Iain drop his mask is his horror at being compared to Zorders!
