Broadway - "the Great White Way"

Think there will be a few popular ALS names next year. Question is, do any of them replace Fernando on the Drop 40? (Find out...next month!)
  2. Or, don't. I'm looking forward to the tears myself...
  3. I feel like their notability went down with each successive sentence there!

Who Should Make The Deathlist In 2021?

Sounds like she needs full time care and to be fed and washed now. Shame, great actress. Between her career, Playdays, being the Thompson matriarch and her role in the Magic Roundabout, hell of a CV too.

    Ideas and Possibilities for 2021

As of my theme teams going in last week, no longer the case should he make January 1st.

Authors Last A Long Time, But....

Jacqueline Wilson gives a paywalled New Statesman interview where she notes she's been extremely self-isolating this year due to "a series of health issues" including the on-going aforementioned heart failure and a more recent kidney transplant. One to watch, clearly.

    The Dead of 2020

The guy lived less than 5 miles away from me and I'd never heard of him...

    9. Linda Nolan

Well that's a worse indictment of the British than electing Boris Johnson!

    Derby Dead Pool 2021

Aye, what that charming and witty chap quoted above said.

    Norman Tebbit

Yeah I concur on both (all?) points. Thoughts with Sean's family at this time though...

In the past but not since 2014!

    Derby Dead Pool 2020

Probably not, but most of them are so obscure their DDP teams haven't noticed, let alone me. Tauranac a tribute to the great 2013 DDP when Jack Pardee was LOTL and then a hit after his obit was discovered 5 months later. (That was an impressive timelapse in the pre-Belso days...) Either that or I forgot.

    Room 101

I'll have you know with my face mask and rain coat I'm just missing a scythe off looking like a low budget horror villain... Bar the obvious ones I haven't seen anyone since July and most folk since March. Including folk I actually like.(Yes, those do exist. Honest. )

tbh I don't know whats funnier, Prestwick having an international airport, or them chucking Glasgow on the name because no one had heard of Prestwick in America.

    Chris Rea, Die-arrhea

He had a fucking massive stroke 2 or 3 years ago. That, combined with the vast number of pills he needs to take to keep pancreatic cancer aftereffects at bay, and its a bloody miracle he's still breathing tbh.

    Captain Tom Moore

That aside, the new footage of Captain Tom on the SPOTY, he's clearly gone downhill rather since summer. I don't think he'll last another year.

    Room 101

Looks bigger to me... (Yeah, just an excuse to post Fr Ted...)

    Room 101

6 cases in my neck of the wood, 8 in the Highlands. Game, set, match... (What do you mean, Glasgow Govan's a wee bit smaller than the entire Highlands?)

    World's Oldest

I missed this interview from Kane Tanaka on 29th October (no new news in it) but imagine giving multiple sentence answers to someone when you are 117.

    Doctor Who

Ah, Dinsdale Landen was a fine actor that didn't really get his TV dues (though he was never off stage) - he was equally fun in Thriller. Bit mad to think it'll be 17 years since he died in the next week or so. Anne Reid off Corrie/Last Tango in Halifax fame a good one too, who is still acting today of course. She was one of the best things in Years and Years and Our Zoo just in the last few years alone.
  22. Good luck! Hope to hear soon you've delightfully smashed that cancer like it was a spectre goon in act one of a Connery Bond. I had many options for that analogy but they kept getting more and more obscure.
  23. Well, shit, that's terrible, very sorry to hear that Cat. If thats your current treatment, then there's clearly still a fight to go there, so genuine best wishes at this time. (Well somebody had to say something instead of us all posting sad emoticons at 9 in the morning!)

    Celebrity vaccination.

Yeah, that's the crux of the matter, as it were. (And we can all catch up like mad in a few months...) That calculator suggests March here but I suspect as Toast notes there'll be widespread mobilisation in the new year. (And as we must have mentioned at some point, thats exactly what they did with the TB crisis in the 1950s.)

    COVID 19 - Second Wave

All of them, pretty much here. The previous 5 days limited to Christmas Day alone so that's the very few uncancelled things left here now off. Oh well, more time to work on the DDP team I guess...
