This is why I don't update the DDP while on painkillers. As interesting as obits that go "Vera Lynn was a FIRE BREATHING dragon who played for Manchester United..." might be...
-
This makes Leslie Philips the last man standing from my first DDP team. As I always suspected, really...

My introduction to Rafferty's solo work that one. About 20 years ago I was listening to Virgin radio and they had Tom Baker (!) of all people as a guest host. He announced "If you don't know this genius you need to, now" and started playing Get It Right Next Time.

What a band Queen were. There's not even any of their top ten listed above (it came mostly in the 80s and 90s imo) but most of that would be the greatest hits for another band. Rafferty'll be in the next lot if I'm keeping score. The boozy grumpy genius didn't often trouble the charts after he took more to drinking instead, but Baker St and Night Owl (which I prefer) both made the top ten. A fan digresses.

tbf if Biden wins you could say they did learn this lesson from 2016. The actual campaign has been focused on popularism* (job protection in swing states, minimum wage increases, dollar in your pocket stuff) with just enough of Sanders ideas to look progressive but not a communist nutter**. Clinton came across as aloof and cold and took things for granted, so they've nominated a guy who, for all his failings elsewhere, is pretty good at the whole people person and empathy stuff, and campaigning where the fucking votes are. As for here, not making a prediction years out from the next election, but it seems the Labour voters all decided to vote for the most competent of the folk running to replace Corbyn. If the polling is accurate (and tbh its usually more accurate than us idiots claim) then so far folk are willing to give Starmer the benefit of the doubt, and much prefer him already to the last guy (not hard I admit!) but they don't fully trust Labour again yet on the economy/security etc etc. Years ahead of us yet. David Cameron looked like a gormless idiot for ages before the financial crash and people started looking at him as the next PM. Not me of course, I still think he was a gormless idiot, but you know what I mean. *This was Trumps whole thing in 2016 so I'm a bit surprised he's left it open for the opposition tbh. ** Portrayal, not necessarily personal opinion, before Joey complains.

I assume you must have Ulitzer blocked as he told off the fuckwit for this on the same day it was posted. Also if you have blocked him, you might miss that this is a *research* thread to find out if various pick worthy names are alive or not so wouldn't fit in with the general death threads. Are you OK? You're being surprising scatterbrained of late.

So they are suffering from the exact same cash problem that all the wee independent cinema chains they took business off 20 years ago died from. Tragic.

Toupee or not Toupee....that is the question

MP Michael Fabricant's wig is fairly famous because he refuses to admit it is a wig even after wearing it for years now. -
Marty Wilde survived a "heart scare" this summer and now has a pacemaker. Also, allegedly he's 81 now. They'll be telling us Kim is 60 next...

Flicking the news channels for the Trump, Larry King of all people has a show on Russia Today!!!! He looks like fucking death warmed up too. Even more emaciated and struggling to speak.

At dead years old its never too early to start thinking about life insurance.

Well, look at Willz as one of her constituents - he's a pretty big Nat and liked Ferrier and he's openly said she should go. If a recall petition happens I think she'd lose it by a large margin.
-
Yes, yes he did have a thread.

Her boss speaks:
-
Previous ones didn't, but she has her own MP colleagues telling her to step down, SNP grassroots telling her to go, and her own party leader tearing into her stupidity, so it's possible imo. FTR: She got covid, then traveled from Glasgow to Westminster instead of quarantining because "she felt better" a few days later.

Just image how many leaders out there has been dafter than bloody Duterte at this thing, whose years of "wear a face mask and shoot anyone who comes within 2 miles" policy is suddenly seen as groundbreaking...
-
That's the other DDP cliffhanger - will Joey need to take over unexpectedly if the asthmatic obit writer catches covid...
-
He'd been in that CBBC show for years (not seen it, parent of the wrong age group!) and had already worked with Enfield and Whitehouse and was seen as a genuine talent on the rise. No age at all.

As everyone's least favourite bossy sod, consider this one more week to go "bring back this QO", "what about this" "I want 10 points for a unique pick" and so on before the Cmme seal the game tweaks for 2021.

I legit thought Simon Park was one of those guys who was in his 50s or 60s at the time and died about 20-30 years ago.

Gooseberry, mate, this is the exact same story by the exact same writer we moaned about 3 weeks ago!

I've seen memento mori photos that look healthier!

Who will win the 2020 US Presidential Election?

There was a moment when Trump was ranting about something or other and Biden just looked down the camera, raised an eyebrow and went "Can you believe this guy?" which I thought was possibly more effective than anything Hilary Clinton did in 3 debates with Trump. -
I've listened to Pet Sounds and bar one song, God Only Knows, I struggle to remember much of it. Actually I was going to go "Yeah I bet they didn't find room for Master of Puppets" but actually it's at 97th place on their list, so that's me shown up.

Am assuming Rooney Mara is someone that Joaquin Pheonix shagged, going off the little information available in the last few posts. It's a random guess.
