    Statistics

The problem with trying to chart these things of course as a prediction of future events is that death is never regular in its patterns. I've seen 4 month Deathlist dry spells and 4-5 hits in one month, sometimes in the same year...

Do people tend to survive longer after drowning?
  4. When the young one started school, I had to be updated on the terminology they use for kids, when I got told they were "gifted" and my face fell. Apparently nowadays the gist of that is "intelligent but moody bastard". They get half of that from me, must get the intelligence bit from their mum. But anyhow, when I was at school, saying a kid was "gifted" meant that they were as thick as a brick shithouse! I tend to find a lot of the anxiety in the world comes from not having six figure household incomes but just getting by!

    Guilty Pleasures.

Music? Kim Wilde. I love her singles. Films? There's a godawful comedy from 2003 called Churchill The Hollywood Years which I love. It was my introduction to Leslie Philips. Where else will Christian Slater, Anthony Sher and Harry Enfield share screen time? Rik Mayall's in it too, which is usually a big selling point for me. Books? They might be a bit basic (and obv written for kids) but I still think RL Stine's stuff is better than most "adult horror" fiction which goes on far too long talking about everything except the thing you bought it for. The film It cuts 9000 pages about architecture and just focuses on all the creepy clown scenes and is much better as a result.

Welcome. We have a Statistics thread just for this sort of interesting thing. Hope that helps.

I was thinking the same tbh - remember a similar scenario with James Garner not long before his death.

    British Character Actors

Yeah, they filmed an episode but apparently she had no screen chemistry with Patrick Macnee at all. Which didn't stop them casting Linda Thorson who had chemistry with nobody, of course. Whereas Macnee and Rigg... there was TV interview with the two of them years and years ago, and the interviewer asked if they thought Steed and Peel were lovers. "Yes" said a smirking Macnee and "No" said Rigg at the exact same time before both laughed. What a pair!

    Life is a Bastard

Kept thinking about this thread from years ago since the news broke tbh. Now its tested I still stand by my earlier theory that its better to age than to... no age or breathe. I suppose her DDP obit can't just be 10 lines of "Noooooooooooo...." and a few sad face emoticons, right?

Yeah it certainly produced that... gut punch you don't often get with folk you never met. PS None of the like options are really useful for moments like this.

Yes, and the 2 good Avengers girls too! Ah, Diana Rigg was a brilliant actress (she could go from acclaimed theatre to Hammer horror without batting an eyelid) and fantastically sexy woman too, as I've mentioned on a few occasions...

    Wrestlers/actors

Marty Jannetty claims the whole murder confession was him starting a wrestling storyline. I suppose in 2020 Marty Jannetty vs the undead zombie child molester would be the 100th least weird moment in wrestling but strangely the police don't seem to take "it's a work" as an excuse and old Marty has worked himself into a shoot. Editorial comment - I can't believe this waste of space has made it to 57 while genuine greats and nice guys like Mr Perfect and Bossman didn't see 50. Wrong fucking choice, Reaper.

A Eurosceptic right winger likes Trump? Stunned. Stunned, I tell you. Anyone with a voice in Norway can nominate folk for the prize, seemingly. Most of these are ignored instantly.

    The Dead of 2020

I know how you feel, I too had a dream last night that the forum were mourning world ending news.... Jonathan the Tortoise died of covid. Such an odd dream that I had to go check that Clorox hadn't actually mentioned his death. Nope, still alive.

    Coronavirus death toll 2020

30 deaths in the UK today, which seems like a hell of a jump from recent weeks of 2s and 3s.
