Well it took a toll on someone's mental health for sure.
-
Although now I have the imagine in my mind of a sozzled professor on Zante saying "Chaps, I think we picked the wrong venue for our scientific conference. Hic!"
-
I know that's a typo but as typos go that's pretty special.

Ha. Writing hopefully entertaining and witty obits for them when they die I can help you with. (Well, for the next 15 months!) Them buggering up any OCD lists (hi!) by changing gender is beyond my ability to fix as DDP co-host.
-
tbh I don't care, as long as there's 20 of them and they're alive!
-
Nah, not having that. If the Cmme can find space for Lamotta, JPdC and Mubarak on the list year after year just in case they died (all 3 have now), they can bloody well use one of those spots for a much loved A list 95+ year old just in case.

In before Philip Latham gets an inevitable mention...

In tennis, only ten women have ever won a career grand slam - ie win all 4 of the tennis Grand Slams (Australian Open, French Open, Wimbledon, US Open). Maureen Connolly and Doris Hart are long dead. Steffi Graff, Billie Jean King, Margaret Court, Chris Evert, Serena Williams, Martina Navratilova and Maria Sharapova are all well known and would be DLers if their health is ever to fail publicly. Lesser known in 2020, but still breathing is the tenth person, 1956 Wimbledon champ Shirley Fry, who turned 93 a few months ago and is therefore on the radar of any team wanting to pick a nonagenarian sports star.

Aye, 10 mins iirc...

Should have maybe paid attention to the rules. Ahem. For ease of Sean the two in bold didn't get QOs for this game iirc. So 15 replacements plus 2 new names (as its now 68 years on the throne for Libby): 1. Neils Olsen 2. Wolfgang Rihm 3. Ged Stokes 4. Jana Bennett 5. David Gulpilil 6. Bradley Murdoch 7. Necro Butcher 8. Kenny Sansom 9. Susan Bayh 10. Karen Lewis 11. Sven Habermann 12. Rebecca Luker 13. Derek Draper 14. Yoo Sang-Chul 15. Sarah Harding 16. Tom Smith 17. Gavin Robertson

Jane Tomlinson had years of that, I'm not sure this chap will manage that in a covid environment in 3 months.
-
Hmm, he does seem to be on the other side of the line, yes. Writing 2 articles when terminal and having nowt other fame doesn't really cut it even if Ed Miliband tweets it...

Ecuador have announced they miscounted 3, 700 covid deaths by not adding "rapid test cases" to the death total.

Well Wendell Wilkie, Thomas Dewey and Adlai Stevenson didn't even make 70 which KOs 1940, 1948, 1952 and 1956. Dewey (69) just managed to outlast FDR. I think Wilkie and his running partner are the only two to both die before the next election was called. Hoover and Landon lived to be 90 and 100 respectively so easily surpassed Roosevelt. But anyhow I just wanted to mention Wendell Wilkie, because that's a great name...

If one wanted to be cruel, given how things turned out, you might say that despite being the older brother Edward VIII *was* the spare, he just didn't realise it...

msc apparently in despair at another badly written Mail clickbait article. Some book written by a "body language expert" who once worked with Diana, apparently. He is the one linking Harry and Andrew, not Philip, who isn't even quoted.

He's been quite open about the fact he's suffered from periods of extreme bipolar mental illness most of his life. Not in a look at me way either, just sort of matter of fact and "can I go back to look at owls again now?" way.

Newhart feels very much like a future DL pick.

Huh, Eero Aarnio, creator of the famous ball chairs every Bond Villain wannabe has, is still going and just turned 88.
-
I'll leave it to someone who wants to set a question to answer but, I didn't know till now that song was written about Maria McKee! Every day's a school day...

He could be dead and I'd still expect him to be plotting his political comeback at any moment.

A ship! A ship? It's the bloody Waverley, the last active paddle steamer in the UK.

Should load around 3 mins 40 for Dave Allen agreeing with you. (And 4 mins 35-ish for my favourite Allen line.) -
A truck, iirc. (Couldn't resist)

Don't laugh, this is how I've found out we got a new poet laureate a few months ago and it's Simon fucking Armitage. Aye, obviously Sutcliffe's obviously a cunt for the whole killing lots of women bit (albeit a batshit insane cunt) but he couldn't have got away with at least half of those murders if not for the helping hand of societal prejudices, police incompetence, and that hoaxing wanker, the latter of which I equally blame for the deaths of his last three victims.
