This is all my fault. I told Sir Creep about the legendary Korma Pizza on Facebook the other day. I can only assume he gave into temptation and is now in ICU suffering acute food poisoning...

Listening to the More or Less archives, they had an episode on Pope mortality rates and predicted Francis, as an elderly Argentine man, would make it to 86 (ie 2022). As he only has one working lung, there's a chest infection pandemic routing the globe, and given people keep saying he never looks that well - maybe one to watch for 2021...
-
I've met one of them. Yep, that was a wacky night out with Milosevic...
-
He's Buff, he's the stuff and the ICU nurses just can't get enough...
-
tbh I kept thinking he was already dead. Think I'm mixing him up with the sole Republican Senator to vote for impeachment as Gorton had a government role outside the Senate at Watergate.

There is the option to collect or get a home delivery. Delivery costs more. Collection is go and get it in 20 mins and you've already paid, presumably a better deal.

Famously called for Nixon to resign. And then much later Trump. Not a DDP pick, doesn't seem to have ever been picked.
-
In terms of being the outsider going to "sort out the corrupt insiders at Washington", not being a political mind, and completely lack any PR in his speeches (and his somewhat famous family of hangers on) Carter was a bit similar to Trump in terms of his road to power. November will tell how accurate this analogy is of course, and I'm not sure Trump is going to win the Nobel Peace Prize anytime soon...

Indeed, look at Gene Hackman. Although there was some muttering from Russell T Davies about Warner's health about a decade ago, nothing concrete, just "not a well man". Anyhow, I like David Warner so hopefully he's just putting his feet up somewhere and wont trouble the DDP for several years yet.

Veggies are vegetarians, not vegetables, at least round that. Couple that with this bit of info from the BBC Good Food site and I'm reminded of Soylent Green: From pasta and pies to quiches, there's no end of ways to use roasted veg. Fill your oven with a big batch of veggies and you'll have easy meals on tap all week. A modest proposal!

Actually looking him up, Warner has only been in one or two things in 3-4 years which is a considerable decrease in activity for the man. Whereas the irrepressible quartet of Robert Duvall, Michael Caine, Judi Dench and Donald Sutherland have another 11 films and 2 TV series coming out in the next year between them!

She was known to be fecked before New Year - "planning funeral now", lots of talk that didn't suggest Stage 1 - hence her appearance on 89 DDP teams that year.

Whenever I play the forum popular game of "who's on the next DL" I find myself quickly with a shortlist of 200 odd names, and that's just from folk who feel DLy famous (proper fame, not Bill Gate's dad). Add yer various forum niche fandoms (Doctor Who, snooker, World Cup players to name but three) and you're drowning in names, of which easily more than a few teams of 20 are "old and frail" and "famous and sick" or "getting up in age but forgotten by the rest". Add in that non-British celebs can get QOs now (thinking of the Guardian interest in Australia and the Mails in US names) and people are spoilt for choice without even needing to google "tragic mum faces final Christmas..." stories... Of course, the Banhammer is on those picks now but you know what I mean...

I give him the Lycett Green route tbh. Wont be long before:

Jokes aside, if the People's Princess Jade Goody (heh) didn't make the list, someone much less famous and much less dying wont. Nor has the presumably fairly healthy Rula Lenska, who I mention just because her name popped into my head there and I thought "there's a name I've not heard in a while".
-
You mean none of you ever chilled out to Metallica's Paint It Black or The Pogues's Fuck You I'm Drunk?* *This was also attributed on Kazaa to every Irish band that ever existed.
-
Oh yeah I should probably look up the teams soon...

Hi, I'm the ice cream man, I went to school with Nigel Fairservice... Bit annoyed the video's not on youtube to link, tbh...

We had a tetchy thread and some bastard deleted it just to see how tetchy I'd get. VERY is the answer!

Dead or Drop 40 with no middle ground, imo.

Nope, this is the first I heard! Link below Cancer in the brain, lungs, bones and kidneys. Sounds a bit fucked. https://www.thesun.co.uk/tvandshowbiz/12419262/james-whale-fighting-cancer/

Saturday night TV got ruined by Bob Monkhouse dying. What was he thinking? Mind you, I don't get the BBC putting their new series as boxsets on Iplayer.... before they're finished showing on the TV. "The ratings are down". No fucking wonder. I feel like the big ratings for the Gavin and Stacey comeback and the buzz around the fucking Masked Singer shows there's still an appetite for that sort of thing. Not that hard to put together Game Show/Non-challenging TV drama (the Dr Who slot if you will, but that sort of family friendly popcorn)/Family Entertainment like a Strictly or Richard Osman thing/comedy/comedy/Casualty/adult drama/Film together. Also, while I'm meandering, Richard Osman. Gets creative or production royalties anytime 8 out of 10 Cats, Total Wipeout, Deal or No Deal or House of Games are shown on TV anywhere, plus that AND performance royalties off all Pointless repeats. That man must be fucking loaded.

All those posts and he missed Julie Newmar being 87 (!) today. John Standing's 86 too, apparently. Good actor, in one of my favourite films (Eagle Has Landed).

Indeed, when Carlos Bilardo was in hospital earlier this year I thought it was Menotti at first reading because he's been unwell. Of course, Bilardo himself has been in poor health of late - had 2 brain surgeries last year to deal with side effects of his Hakim-Adams Syndrome...
