Patricia Routledge is also a name people know who is randomly in her 90s but has no other health news whatsoever... See also about 50 others...

Peter Batten died 2nd March 2005, according to the Probates Search. Update - where did that edit come from? Hah. Oh well!

That's our cheery thought for the day. Next, it's Iain with the shipping forecast...

Hah. Yeah, he's been in a fair few things so I was trying to work out which seemed the most obvious.

Victor Meldrew: Your Majesty, evil magicians wish to do you ill. Giles from Buffy: Nonsense. I don't believe you, my oldest friend. I will continue to do the foolish thing. Oops I nearly died. I shall never doubt you again, oldest friend. Next week, back to square one.

One of my biggest peeves with your TV game shows is the contestants who look at a question and go "Oh it was before my time..." You're on a fucking quiz show! I was born in the fucking 80s and I know who the Prime Minister was during World War Two because I'm not a completely gormless idiot.

DDT, it appears your work here is done.

Speaking as a Scot, and a wrestling fan, apt finish then for a complete non-entity.

He retired to Whiston (near Liverpool) and gave this interview in 2008. Then here is a bunch of folk on a Facebook reminisces group talking about meeting him "recently" in 2014 and still being willing to chat and tell jokes with fans in the street. Here's a pic of him in a care home in Huyton in 2018. So with that combined, I assume he probably is? And I see Willz put a Twitter link, but I spent 10 mins looking up the Wills for post 2010 and finding his post 2000 digital trace so I'm bloody well posting this.

Apparently it's the new infection rate they're suppressing, but they've announced 18 deaths for today.

It's all humans dying, innit, and they all suffer from an underlying condition called lack of immortality...

Do you ever get that moment when someone quotes one of your posts and you have no memory of ever writing it? Well, that. Possibly, though in the "needs to be jail for their own safety" stakes I'd suggest Mark Chapman as a higher one, given I'm pretty certain he'll be dead within 6 months of ever getting released from jail.

We're used to regular deaths from the older World Cups (up to the 1986 here) but 5 deaths already from a World Cup I sat and watched the entire thing through at uni feels a bit too close for comfort. As does someone who played in a game I watched with the wean (Tiote)!

He was a big name around 20 years ago. In 2001 he was a dangerous would be dictator who threatened peace in the region and was a belligerent antagonist to the UK and US. Then the September 11 attacks happened, and Musharraf backed the US. Overnight, the UK/US transformed him into a strong ally who was vital to peace in the region!

It moved to something else at 8000. I forget what but it was the reminder for me to go ask for a custom one instead.

Going through the DDP emails, some brought up this Wiki edit for broadcaster turned Yewtree jailbird Stuart Hall last year as its by "a normally reliable editor". Now I'm reasonably sure Hall's death would have been major news but I'll pop this here in case anyone gets bored and wants to outright debunk it. Or find out he did somehow die of pneumonia to a badly worded edited on Wiki and no one noticed...

One of Christopher Brookmyre's early books got a slating from some critics as the villain, a village doctor who quietly murdered a dozen or so people, was unrealistic. This was a year or two before Shipman was unmasked.

Well, the time when people filled their squads with the US states "January executions to do list" was at least on the unsporting side.

Who will win the 2020 US Presidential Election?
msc replied to Windsor's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
Not sure you'd have that particular issue with a lesbian VP. -

Gooseberry's favourite singer is back on twitter again, mostly tweeting about people she's outlived, and this is meant to be a recent photo.

Jefferson Starship to release their first album in 12 years next week. This includes songs written by our Grace Slick, but there's a younger lass singing them these days.

Survivor in recent years of 2 massive heart attacks, emergency surgery, followup heart surgery and eating too many pies, Sydney Devine is planning his fucking comeback tour. A spot in Glasgow is planned for November, with gigs across the country planned for 2021. "Sydney is showing no signs of slowing down any time soon." says the press release. Aye, watch this space, then.

Another year, Ric Flair continues to drink, has a pacemaker (an older reference to both here but both things well known in wrestling circles), appears on weekly TV looking like a man who has cheated death twice in two years* (at least), and walks about Florida sans mask despite his wife catching covid. Not because he's a skeptic but because he seemingly doesn't give a shit if he lives or dies. *example
