    Death Anniversary Thread

Aye, gas explosion wiped out an entire shopping precinct. Luckily because it was a wet Thursday afternoon, the place wasn't as busy as on a weekend so the death toll was 22 and not hundreds. But a bus had just stopped outside and the passengers getting off didn't stand a chance.

Lovelocks the other possible. Although, a word in defence of Captain Tom: he is now very famous, very old and very frail. He might not have been the first of those 6 months ago, but then its an extreme case of the likes of Dick King-Smith making his breakthrough aged 60. Fame is fame and he's a household name zeitgeist now so if they pick him, it's still a good degree above the likes of fame of a Genesis Porridge or a Bill Gates's dad already getting on the list.

Aye, its all cleared up, I thought it was a bit of player error, not people using a stage name.

Any precedent on this? Technically "Brett (name) - Sherrie Hewsons brother" - leaves little doubt who they intended to pick even if the surname turned out wrong.

I'd never heard of that. Some disasters get forgotten quickly - it'll be the 49th anniversary of the Clarkston Toll disaster in October and despite having passed through the street it happened on, I only found out about it a few years ago.

Yup, breast cancer can be locked in stasis (so to speak) for years but once it starts spreading...(9.4 months average on spreading to the liver, going off my Rainman stats, ahem...)

Some of those types of picks are quite private and fall through the gaps. I'm reminded of former Peterborough manager Chris Turner dying in 2015 and winding up a unique on a theme team. Amara was on my cup team (lots of "gravely ill" talk around March) but I blatantly forgot all about him for the Poker game.

    Political Frailty

It's not Mogg because he's been criticised for being informed of the matter a month ago for his job. Anyhow, former minister.

Yes, as well as well done AFB, well done Joey - this entertaining game can be a nightmare to run and he pulled it off very well.

Eddie Howe has just left Bournemouth. Hmm, I don't think we'll see them in the PL again soon.
  15. As Danny Baker once put it, "It's mindboggling to think that anyone could ever have thought of your own dad as sexy once, despite the evidence of you existing..." Eye, beholder, etc. That said, I usually put that social media thing down to desperate perverts.

An actress is obviously notable by definition. As she has several notable credits under her names I'm a bit lost as why she wouldn't be allowed. A 23 year old actress is almost certainly a duff pick, mind you. Politicians are notable. adjective adjective: local 1. relating or restricted to a particular area or one's neighbourhood. "researching local history" denoting a telephone call made to a nearby place and charged at a relatively low rate. denoting a train or bus serving a particular district, with frequent stops. "the village has an excellent local bus service" 2. (in technical use) relating to a particular region or part, or to each of any number of these. "a local infection" noun noun: local; plural noun: locals an inhabitant of a particular area or neighbourhood. "the street was full of locals and tourists" Hope that helps....

    The Dead of 2020

Ah David Kelly got a DDP mention recently courtesy of Gooseberry's left field picks that prove canny uniques. Even without Foot (who always seemed a reasonable chap if not a PM), the SDP split was killer for the non-Tories at the time.

Yes, FFBI specific. There was lots of debate on where the line specifically was, fame wise, so it was easier to start with "these picks have to go" and then build from that point basically.

Unanimous decision by the three Cmme members on passing some sort of ban. We got permission to borrow Deathray's Rules too from, err, a passing stranger. As much as I got fecked off with his spamming us about it in January, it is the clearest set out rules around on what constitutes FFBI.
