Lord Armstrong of Ilminster, GCB, CVO, civil servant, was born on March 30, 1927. He died on April 3, 2020, aged 93 I had to take The Times out of the budget when Brexit started to hit so that's my last article for the week!

One of those powers behind the throne names from yesteryear, heavy influence on the character of Sir Humphrey Appleby iirc.

I mean, I can't find the links after a month (problem with Cup researching via Google translate, eh?), but given he has spent time in the ICU in February/March (and they seemed to think he might have coronavirus too), another 8 months is a long time to go yet.

Yes, Vera Lynn's music was a well known soother to the country during the Spanish Flu.

Who we going to lean on now when we're not strong? Great singer.

NFL star Tom Dempsey is now in hospice care with coronavirus. Dont see any earlier mentions of this.

Oh he was a BBC4 talking head last year but unlike many of the misses in that category he actually looked well for his age. Well, he did until coronavirus appeared, presumably...

How many 2020 DDP picks will die of coronavirus?
msc replied to Youth in Asia's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
Imagine my horror for a few moments when that obscure princess died of corona and got the QO. Thankfully, not the obscure princess on that team! -
Well the DDP came calling but yes, I am glad not to have to deal with all the Cup complaints for a bit!

How many 2020 DDP picks will die of coronavirus?
msc replied to Youth in Asia's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
There was one last month, I forget who now. Much like the TMIB era it is increasingly obvious on the front page when I've actually heard of the DDP hit... Crap jokes and stories as opposed to "uhm, he designed some golf courses, apparently, here's who won points..." -
How many 2020 DDP picks will die of coronavirus?

Hopefully none, says the guy who has to write the obits... -
Need to get rid of Corbyn obvious. Just Labour love really long contests while the Tories get on stitching up their own contests and getting on with buggering up the economy.

Oh now that's a shame, he was a very good TV writer as you can see from his career lasting so long. Beyond the Avengers, 3 of his scripts which stick in the mind are: London's Burning S5e3 - the one where they fight against time to save a drowning girl in a silo - nightmarish images from when I was a kid. But its also the one where James Hazeldine tries to save the suicidal teen on the big crane, but can't. A grim memorable episode in a series full of grim moments! Shadows of Fear: Did You Lock Up? - Not the best Shadows of Fears (that's the rather Jamie Bulger like Sugar and Spice you wouldn't get away with these days) but a solid runner up to that tag, as good old Michael Craig (why is not a more popular deadpool name these days, he's 92!) suffers a burglary at his home and slowly starts to go mad from the worry it'll happen again. Mark McManus shows up as a thief in an early role too. Shadows: The Future Ghost - Written for kids, this is a complete 180 on a ghost story, as a Victorian young nurse stays in a bed and breakfast, only to hear the cries of an ill child and to walk into a modern 1970s room. Our main character is one of these good of heart and spirit types which is just as well as the supernatural flip flop winds up saving their life.

Going off that url he had torrid sex with John Profumo? I don't remember that bit of the Keeler Affair!
-
He'll get obits across the board by evening or else I will be majorly fucked off.
-
Only Labour would go "ok, major world crisis, lets slowly count votes for 5 months..." Although the Lib Dems cancelling their own contest until the virus is beaten is the most Liberal Democrat bit of news ever.
-
*googles* Oh right, she did get an obit in the end? Will sort that out next time then.
-
Its been a long standing part of the Cup that the host needs to see the actual obit, not a claim it exists somewhere. This rarely was ever an issue, in fact, I can only think of one other time in 4 years it became an issue. Otherwise there's nothing stopping us picking super obscure thing then claiming to see an obit in our local newspapers.

Looks like I already cut the wrong corona guy!

Here's my 2015 list of anyone who held a government post under the various governments updated to reflect the shitloads of them who died since. I really should update it to include Thatcher and Major and even Blair at some point now their government ministers are getting into their 70s and older and dying...
-
I do, I hadn't heard of your joker either. Need to add "fighting for his/her life" to my Google string searches, clearly. Murphy and Allard I considered but didn't go for, and Willie K a March drop so we were nearly even more alike. Good luck.

My team with "who the fuck are they" descriptions for Biblio and co: 1. (Joker) Mark DeSaulnier – US politician, California congressman. Took ill with pneumonia and had a fall. Said to be gravely ill, then had two separate "health has got worse" notices in the last week, so I can only assume he is very very ill. 2. Lee Teng-Hui - A drol favourite. Got to pick one of them. 3. Michael Ziegler (Pride industries CEO) - Same CEO in a hospice I picked last month 4. John Prine - "An absolute nobody" Deathray 5. Bob Glanzer - US congress politician who got coronavirus and his colleagues helpfully said today they "dont know if he's going to make it". 6. Bennie Adkins - Popular Medal of Honour winner in the US. 7. Gary Burford - Dying musician I nicked off Death Impends team. 8. Ronald Shurer - Medal of Honour winner in the US I nicked off Death Impends DDP team. 9. Robin Hanbury Tennison - Explorer and former boss of the Countryside Alliance, now gravely ill with coronavirus. 10. Said Amara - Algerian football legend, played for Bordeaux in the 60s, now gravely ill in Algeria 11. Peter Duchin - Band leader/musician from New York. Also has coronavirus. The team has a majority of non-corona cases: 6 to 5!

Just twigged Willz actually picked Frank Ifield!

That was my reaction, only with more swearing.
