Stupid/funny/cool/outrageous/scary/weird/crazy Stuff You Read/saw In The News/on The Internet

I'm not really a Baddiel fan but that bit cracks me up. Which makes me fear that somewhere out there there's a decent Michael McIntyre sketch, but hell am I looking for that. -

David Baddiel's genuine stand out moment was a 5 minute segment on these very things: -
Who will win the Democratic Nomination for President in 2020?
msc replied to Joey Russ's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
The US progressive voter is nearly fully uniting behind Bernie so far. That's basically it. -
Aye... With your record for starting threads, what ever happened to Durham? A BBC obit by Euro 2020!

I actually didn't - age and not really paying attention to a bank I have nowt to do with. See, Deathlist Forum *is* educational.

Trebek, but imo all 3 could be dead by the time we have a Democratic Presidential candidate sorted out.

If you've seen the trailers for the new documentary on BT next week, it looks like a wake. Lots of red eyed folk talking past tense. I'd completely forgotten they'd taken him off the bloody list too.

Nah, that's just on general principle...

Oui. Il y avait des rumeurs de cancer en 2019, mais je l'ai mis sur Google Translate! Comme ça.

Minimalists (and other classical composers/musicians)
msc replied to harrymcnallysblueandwhitearmy's topic in DeathList Forum
Presumably the musician who worked on shitloads of Disney films? https://www.imdb.com/name/nm5948860/ A DDP pick. I had a look around in January and could see nothing to say they died off radar last year. -

Demographically challenged was right there, hours later. Anyhow, it is what it is - the vote isn't decided in New Hampshire, it's in places with far more black, hispanic and Asian voters (eg Georgia, the Carolinas). And Mayor Pete was bloody tanking with them in the polls, to the point black voters seem to prefer the guy who promoted Stop and Frisk to him. At the moment I can only see him crashing and burning in a few weeks like...Rick Santorum and other names I can't remember before him who did well in the first 2 or 3 then fuck all. -
How long did Ricksen last in hospice care? And he had a lingering case, not a "on last legs 2 years in" type of ALS...

There is a lot of noise. There's really 4 options left on the table. Sanders. The favourite right now. Warren IF something happens to Sanders, or she proves more palatable to the less white states, for lack of a better term. Unlikely as it stands. Bloomberg. Lots of bigging up by the usual suspects but I can't see him doing well in the race. Sanders (and indeed Trump) do well in these things because they tell folk their situations suck and they can fix them. The "Not Bernie Sanders" centre/centre right pick the Dems solidify around to replace Uncle Joe. The options for that aren't promising at the present moment. Maybe Kloubacher or Buttigieg could coalesce that around them if the other drops out, but they're not exactly screaming demographic nabbers right now. As it stands it's Bernies to lose. Which I wouldn't have called back when he had his heart attack. -
Octopus. Although it would have been on Ceelo so what do I know.

Always war criminals who come back from the grave, never Nicholas Parsons...

Perry the most surprising of the 3 as he is actually in one of the films that was up for best film on the night! Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. Although Michael J Pollard was Oscar nominated, and snubbed. Denise Nickerson and former Oscar nominee Valentina Cortese also ignored. Oh, and Carol Lynley, who seemed rather forgotten on her death, but people should go watch Bunny Lake Is Missing if they haven't. Classic but somewhat forgotten psychological horror film from the 60s.

I like how Jean Marsh is easily the most famous person referenced in the post and appears merely as "also Jon Pertwee"... Marsh is a DL future cert, Ingeborg Pertwee somewhat less so. Sheila Hancock is also a potential future DL pick, but Sally Alexander doesn't seem in trouble of threatening deadpoolers anytime soon last I saw?

You might want to re-read that comment in a more sarky tone!

Drop 40 lock in 2030 with this kind of momentum.

Ah, I see this has become the Guess Who Toast Reminds You Of thread now.

Standard Jan-Feb DL forum moans about the DDP 2015 - the QOs 2016 - the QOs 2017 - the QOs (leading to one host flounce) 2018 - the QOs (this might have been me...) 2019 - the Qos 2010 - the existence of the theme team league 10/10 for a new grump piece. Of course, my favoured (but currently outvoted) solution to that is to axe the theme team league entirely.

Robert Conrad is not Robert Wagner. Last I checked.

Anyhow, best quote on this all week came from Sandi Toksvig on The Last Leg, who said she was very excited about people coming out as gay on This Morning...and hoped Holly Willoughby was next!
