  1. Of the fifty something countries in Europe the only ones who aren't signed up to the ECHR conventions are Russia and Belarus. That's the level of international pariahdom Crem is predicting Labour to support.

    Norman Lear

2024 needs a replacement centenarian. Spade, know any suffragette heroines we can call on?

    That'll do. Congratulations Reptile!

    Shirley MacLaine

Genuinely don't think there's a level of frailty in Shirley MacLaine I'd call worrying tbh.

    Chevy Chase

Hands up everyone who saw "Chevy Chase, post by Thatcher" on the main page and thought "yep, he's dead". Me, certainly.

I have a route back in all of a sudden? This thing has more plot twists than a Netflix mini-series!

    Ideas and possibilities for 2024

Through age I only know Delon through this forum. Bernadette a list name as a political geek but not beyond that. De Gaulle is a Fascinating obscure notable as I'd call them, his age and aliveness get him interest here more than his fame. Whereas Brigitte Bardot and say Sophia Loren I've known about for decades. Major international stars whose fame transcends their time. (We've already had the DL is British and thus British celebrities are obviously a focus so consider that read. Though I will be mischievous and state that the Bogdanoff brothers did a best-selling series of books in French about the first Doctor Who so William Russell's Ian is more famous in France than Philippe De Gaulle is in the UK!)

    The deaD of 2023

Found out Ruth Langford (who?) Mum is actually 92 which makes her an obvious pick after all, because not everyone who makes it to 92 gets to 93.

    Meghan Markle

I'm siding with Amanda from The Traitors on general principle.
  10. Disappointingly. I frankly suck at finding names ever since I took time out to cohost the DDP. Hmm, maybe Brian Blessed is joker material...

    The deaD of 2023

List of the Missed as I picked him in 2021 due to rumours of him being in ill health. Then promptly dropped him and forgot. C'est la vie.

    Political Frailty

At the time he had a bit of a reputation as a boring but reliable cabinet minister who just did their job. Christ, I've missed those after the last decade!

It's been expected for over thirty years but still quite sad tbh. He was a genuine legend.

    The 17th Death of 2023

The Sun opposed Delors as he was opposed to everything they stand for, which is usually a good judge of character for me. Anyhow, Carter, obviously.

    Political Frailty

Never gave us a chance with his short retirement. His defeat in 1997 was caught on BBC live because the cameras rushed there thinking it was Rifkinds seat. Rifkind was known to be doomed by that point though so Douglas Hamilton's defeat confirmed there'd be no Tory MPs in Scotland. Briefly!

A reminder that this game opens tomorrow at noon British time, or midday. Which is 7am New York time. First come first served etc. You all know the rules.

    1. Jimmy Carter

Never mind Christmas, I'll be shocked if he sees Sunday here.

    5. Pope Francis

Genuinely get him on next year's list. Famous enough old enough and sick enough is a rare enough hattrick for a DLy name. And he doesn't feel like he's got much time left...
