Hah, no, the use of "Fay" buggered up the search engine looking for him!
-
Much as I hate to say it, sounds increasingly like he needs to just call it a day on this tour and performing in general. He's in his 70s and his life is starting to catch up with him.

OK, I dont expect much of you to be interested in a student remake of a lost Dr Who episode, but this video 4 mins in (should open at that time) has a recent interview with the great British TV actor Edward de Souza, who is now 87. Flipping terrified the shit out of me as a kid in Sapphire and Steel, he did. Great actor. Good to see he's still going.

Not to say tennis is astoundingly good for your longevity, but Gimeno is the only French Open champion to have died from the last 61 champions. In fact the 1950 French Open winner, Budge Patty, is alive aged 95. Folk like Jana Novotna and poor old Elena Baltacha are very much the exception.

Ah yes, Old Mother Tithonus, right.

Was going to say "and yet Lauren Bruner lives despite years of poor health", but apparently he died a month ago! Had been on my shortlist a year or two ago, but apparently never got close to a QO.

I vaguely recall (after the fact) hearing about some "not realistic" criticism of an early Brookmyre novel where the killer is a doctor who bumped off 10 patients. This was pre-Shipman. Mind you, I can strongly recall Harold Shipman being interviewed on TV as just someone involved in a death, and attacking the press for intrusion into his private life. Being quite young at the time, it was a right twist ending for me when it turned out hedunnit.

That's him. Might not even be in jail. Blimey.

Argentina by 30, exact! Quite chuffed with that one! -
Entirely unrelated, but is that child murderer from South America who was meant to have killed over 300 kids still alive? Beast of the Andes or some sort of similar nickname. Notorious about 20 years ago when caught. Must be a decent "good riddance" pick if still alive. Can't mind his name though.

It's been called that in Scotland for over 30 years, mate. Don't be old.

True story. I did once think Slim Jim Phantom was Phantom off Deathlist Forums. Both heavily involved in music, both called Phantom. Ok, that was pretty much it.

Wow the first sudden death is the thread itself. What a twist!

When I was 15 in Maths class, I made up a Metallica mix tape for a guy in the class who said he'd never listened to "that type of music". They replied by making me a Neil Young and Johnny Cash one. I think we wound up both changing the others fundamental music tastes! Although now I love Cash, Young AND Metallica, naturally.

Aye, for an ex-President, he's no bad, really. Only President not to start a war somewhere, too. Though counterpoint from drol in 5..4..3..2...

Big role in the best crap film of all time, Silence of the Hams.

This didn't stop her appearing on Deathlist after her death, leading to one of the all time great DL posts:

Really, Willz, not even their oft used on TV/film signature?

Btw just to add, there was a Pointless question a few months back, Names of Band Members/Name the Band, and 46 people knew that "Ginger Baker, Jack Bruce and Eric Clapton" were the band Cream. So, somewhat better public awareness than anytime they try to ask folk members of the UK government, countries of Europe, teams at the last World Cup, or railway stations in London!
