Despite Ranieri, Fulham look doomed too. So it's likely down to Cardiff and Newcastle (a bunch of Championship players somehow managed by a top manager) for the last spot imo.
-
Could be a good omen. No doubt I will be corrected here but iirc only player to need 2 or more subs before Round 1 last year was charon, who still won his tie comfortably.
-
Clorox has allowed me to make Tim Conway a replacement wildcard, for the record.
-
Early lead for me! No, hang on a minute...

First of many, I'd assume. Congrates. (And Cup subs are a fairly common thing...)

Tara Simmons, Australian musician who was on my 2018 longlist due to battling Stage IV breast cancer, dead aged 34 from said cancer. Forgot all about her tbh.

Btw, a belated thanks to Spade now I've noticed it. Twigged Ignacio Trelles was my first sub for the Rafferty team. Who didn't make it? Well, alas the great historian David Fieldhouse died in October 2018. Bar one mention on Jesus College's website, completely off the radar (to the point my finding this out has surprised some of his actual former colleagues). Mea culpa for assuming that one of the most highly regarded British historians of the 20th Century would get a proper Times/Telegraph/Guardian/anything notice, or I'd hear from folk who knew, and thus just did a cursory check in late December.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-tayside-central-46958875 I like how you can just quote BBC obits as QO again instead of worrying where on the site it is.

In which case, congrates to Willz, who was adamant Fairlie was going to make the Drop 40, and jokered him.

Plane disappeared (ie went down) in the Channel near Jersey yesterday, in Winter. Search called off at 2am, says Beeb. He is 100% dead.

Edge of Darkness is fantastic. That's the 6 part series and not the 90 minute film with Mel Gibson, naturally. Oh, and so is An American Werewolf in London. Armageddon Factor is less fantastic, mind you. Top actor. Similar vintage to the also seen in bloody everything Geoffrey Palmer.

RBG - 2nd February 2021* This jumps to 2025 if Trump wins next year.

Now seen 2 of the 3 episodes. So far... shite. It has the title, it has some characters from the book, and that's pretty much it. Although it does amuse me that for how much Phelps is meant to have modernised Christie and made her stories all "woke" or whatever they call it by include subtext already in the fucking book, Phelps managed to axe two strong female characters in the book, so as to focus on another female role she has expanded and harpy'd up.

Seeing as you murdered some fine deadpoolers last year on route to the final, I suspect folk will bemoan drawing you as much (if not more) than you drawing them.

What Grim said. Luck of the draw. Or no luck of the draw, if yer me! I think Reptile is overdue giving someone a revenge thumping tbh. Some killer ties, yes, but for all we know the new Heef Award winner* is waiting in Round 1 right now as we speak. And so ties not pictured as killer actually will be... Best Newcomer - previous winners Heef, Sir Creep. I think there's also the Most Improved Player, which was Willz in 2018 iirc.

Doctor Who (yeah, sorry everyone, but its actually an on topic point) is a very rare example of a UK show having Seasons rather than Series. Which I think is down to creator Sydney Newman being Canadian and bringing US style TV over to the UK in the 1950s/60s. (See also The Avengers, but 60s Who has fade outs around the 12 minute mark designed in line with 30 min US TV drama at the time like Twilight Zone and their designated ad-break). Of course, when they brought back the show in 2005 with Christopher Eccleston and real people watching (not just geeks) they've used Series for that. Just to confuse folk.

msc replied to Dr. Zorders's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
I don't really get the emotional support animal thing (isn't that in general...a pet? Who gets a pet dog because dogs stress them out?). However, here's a story about an "emotional support" alligator visiting a nursing home. Which I felt should be shared. Because it exists. PS This story is so going to get a sequel in the Animal Deaths thread one day... -
Called this one 18 months ago as one to watch: Then promptly forgot until you just mentioned it there. It happens!

Oh, I thought Steve Pemberton was quite good in it, actually (the character itself was as you say...very scripted). Apparently they're filming a new series of Inside No 9. I like that one.

Netflixery: Better Call Saul - Much better than Breaking Bad, as it kept the interesting characters (basically, Saul and Mike) and got rid of everyone else. Gotham - Sometimes good, sometimes awful. The chap playing The Penguin is quite good. I saw one series of Happy Valley before it became just too grim for my liking. Currently getting my way through the new Luther. Still think the show ended perfectly on Series 3 finale, and has been treading water since tbh.

Well he was skeletal in... hang on, I made that joke last week! Btw, Sean, yer PM box is full!

Hearing from mutual pals, and its all over his Facebook wall: Ted McKenna, drummer for The Sensational Alex Harvey Band and then for Rory Gallagher, apparently dead after a sudden hemorrhage. EDIT - obit, and on BBC Scotland now https://www.loudersound.com/news/ted-mckenna-drummer-with-rory-gallagher-sahb-michael-schenker-dead-at-68
