At least I'm off nul point now!
-
My entire team lives. Lulling everyone into a false sense of security, honest. That worried about the Cup draw already?
-
Google, mostly! Although obscure is not a requirement. Willz beat Captain Chorizo (a Derby Dead Pool runner up in 2016) last year via Ken Dodd. iirc Sir Creep advanced one round via Rev Billy Graham. So the permanent A-listers can be just as crucial as Tania Dalton (TV presenter) or Marsh Pratley (though he was crucial because he lived).

1. Gerard Basset 2. Andrew McGahan 3. John McCririck 4. Lloyd Klein 5. Karen Lewis Will give this a shot. Good luck!
-
Of course, a lot depends on the luck of draw - the cut off point for BYES to the 2nd Round right now is 19th place (Deathray) and you are 18th! And some regulars yet to yay or nay a spot. Oh, to publicly reply to questions as they arise: Vicky Phelan doesn't qualify, but BBC podcaster and Sun journo Deborah James will, as will the other one Lauren Mahon. The third, Rachael Bland, doesn't qualify for reasons which should be fairly obvious!

Ruth Ginsburg has passed Down the opportunity to watch Trump's press conference on her laptop. Posts like this. Oops, sorry Joey!

Apparently some folk have heart issues any time this thread is bumped, so we shouldn't do that randomly.

I don't mind The Sensorites but Underworld, The Mutants, large chunks of Arc of Infinity...
-
Big loss, great actor. At one point it seemed like he was in every single US show going.
-
Anyone else see the BBC doc on Raymond Briggs this week? It's on Iplayer. He looks and sounds dreadfully frail now, and can only do one small picture a month, though he even struggles with that as he "falls asleep too easily". Felt like an obit piece.

imo the original run can be split into 4 types: 1. The actually great stuff (actually a fair bit of this) 2. The stuff where the budget ran out early (rather more of this) 3. The what the blue hell is this I'm watching (see 2) 4. Dull and boring. I can forgive all of that on TV, except dull and boring.

I don't mind this thread (all knowledge is... something or other) but I remain worried that one day, within it, Sir Creep will post the death of someone I have actually heard of! Also, to be fair, the thread does predate Sir Creep...

Just noting the point at which charon stopped getting excited by this post's potential.

The country singer was well known, not the 1930s actress? Well, I'm confused now. Anyhow, bit sad when somebody in films (even if made before everyone bar LFN was born) die forgotten but the Mirror gives 2 pages to every 20 year old mum with cancer.

I believe you may be in luck as seemingly this information has only come to light in the last few days.
-
That Calment thing is spreading like wildfire despite being, as we say in Glasgow, fucking bollocks.
-
Yeah, but Deathray's the only person to have watched it in the last 10 years.
-
Reminds me of Michael Winner, tbh.
-
If I had rigged it I could have give myself easier draws than fucking Reptile and deadsox!

^ When you see a stats request and go "Thank Christ" when you realise its not directed towards yourself!

Cut down to the ones I've heard of. Family Affairs is the one that tried to deal with falling ratings by using a bomb to kill ALL the lead characters.
-
Melrose Place? Yeah, but only the name iirc Sky 1 used to show it on Sundays alongside The Simpsons?
-
I'll just stick to Eastenders, Corrie and Emmerdale, unless some random obscure soap star comes down with a dose of pancreatic glioblastoma.
-
Ah, The Dead Room was OK, but Gatiss pretty much has one ghost story in him and told it again. Simon Callow was quite good though. And the 1970s Lost Hearts (repeated after) is a TV classic. Directed by my theme team pick Lawrence Gordon Clark (90 this year).

Awesome! I'll give it a look later then.
