This opens tomorrow, right? Second question - wtf happened to 2018 - wasn't it January like 5 minutes ago?
-
^ When you see the last post is Deathray in The Weather Thread and are expecting some analysis heavy predictions... Bit underwhelming!
-
I'm quite hopeful about the prospects of seeing a Sommelier on my 2019 deadpools, actually...

But lets be honest, that would be an awesome exit and everyone would remember it. -
DL-y? I mean, I'm clearly biased given he's Ian, but... ignoring Who, he was also a leading TV actor of the 50s (Sir Lancelot, Nicholas Nickleby) and an RSC actor for 30 odd years (including the lead in Hamlet more than once), plus The Great Escape, Superman, The Man Who Never Was, Above Us the Waves, Blackadder, Corrie, etc etc.

One of the few surviving cast from Curse of the Werewolf. Perhaps folk will be looking to Yvonne Romain and Renny Lister in their 2019 lists. Lister is Kenneth Cope's wife and meant to be in worse health than the COPD afflicted Mr Hopkirk.

And Nikolai Volkoff was part of one of my favourite stupid wrestling moments ever. There's Nikolai Volkoff in the ring, proudly singing the Russian National Anthem to jeers. Out pops Hacksaw Duggan (of "spent last week in ICU" fame), American flag and all. "You can't sing your song here, Nikolai, I wont allow you to anymore because this IS THE LAND OF THE FREE!" Mind you, Hacksaw Jim Duggan was basically a walking talking example of Idiot Americana ie another time, Nikolai and his evil Bolshevik partner Zhukov were taking on The British Bulldog (from Manchester) and Bret Hart (Canadian) and Duggan tried to get the crowd onside by chanting "USA! USA!" I think it was to show support for the referee... -
Dead. EDIT - So ninja'd so quickly it didn't even have time to go "New post" - and what took my eye off this for 5 seconds thus the ninja? A message from DI that Hillenburg was dead!

Part of one of my favourite Day Today bits! (He's Martin) -
Was on my shortlist...back in 2016. Less boring picks took her out of mind.

Former top flight ref Eddie Wolstenholme has apparently had a "medical emergency" in the tunnel before Burnley/Newcastle and is being rushed to hospital.
-
Just to be circular and show that widely assumed knowledge is only what you know yerself, I knew vaguely of the scandal thanks to US TV referencing it a lot (Simpsons for example) but not the guys name, or the fact they made an Oscar nominated film about it.
-
imo the real spies don't get caught, or if they do, backstage deals happen and we never heard about it.
-
That's a bit harsh about Mr Hume!
-
Bono remembers his "seriously ill" pal John Hume at recent gig. He also talks about Brexit, but Brexit ain't going on a DDP shortlist...
-
Slim Jim* and Glen Matlock (!) are surprisingly happy to be doing so well in Pointless. It's like seeing Howard Marks on Never Mind the Buzzcocks. Taking on two hairy bikers lookalikes who apparently used to be Boyzone. *Just going to assume this is our Phantom, for ease...
-
Hey, Grim, got an exclusive tip for you. Jean Louis Trintignant - you know, star of Oscar/BAFTA nominated films Z and Amour - is apparently really ill. Dunno if you've heard.

Am I the Last Word guy now? Blockbuster line up this week: John Large, the man Greenpeace, the US, the UK, the Russians and the North Koreans all asked about for his nuclear specialism. William Goldman, the great screenwriter Dr Sarah Ntiro, the Rosa Parks of Uganda Richard Baker, of Mary Mungo and Midge fame (heh) Patsy Rodgers, musician and Irish King.

Love Tales of the Unexpected. The Fly Paper and Shatterproof (a two hander with Eli Wallach) are favourites.

Anyone seen that film where the spoiler is it's set on September 11th and Robert Pattison gets killed in the WTC? That was bad. Arctic Blast, no longer on Netflix, sadly: once seen, never forgotten...

DJ Casper came up as a top prospect in the 2017 TCD but I decided to look the other way. We were both rewarded, as he lived anyway! Some names floated during the Cup I am still keeping secret in case folk wanted to use them in the DDP (ie I've probably forgotten them!). Name on a team you and the person know about only, and it's how you found out? Don't, imo. Name mentioned on this forum publicly at all? Fair game. You already knew about the person? Well, that's just life and nowt stopping you doing what you were doing. S'all about trust imo. Maryport has seen my DDP team in advance (or most of it) about 7 years running now thanks to the Deathrace, and has never "nicked" a single pick.

The latest in the super exciting Gregg Leakes cancer battle is that he is rejecting chemo as chemo makes people "very sick".
-
Here is a wee subtle hint about my views: GORBACHEV!!!!!!! Also David Attenborough and Terry Jones would be good additions.
-
Thanks for bringing back the BBC regional obits officially.

I'm putting all my eggs in the "Carl Piddington on Christmas Day for 17 points" basket... ...Oh, I see you've covered that one already!
