This post started off brilliantly but then tailed off badly at the start of the second sentence imo,

Minimalists (and other classical composers/musicians)
msc replied to harrymcnallysblueandwhitearmy's topic in DeathList Forum
FFS, Gcreptile was asking about classical music folk and after looking up really old folk for him, I added this guy to my long list yesterday. Kiss of fucking death. *puts Piers Morgan on list out of curiosity* -
Anyone else remember when CNN uploaded their Pope John Paul II obit prematurely by accident? Only it was based on the Queen Mum obit so referred to JPII as "the nation's favourite grandmother" and "fond of her whisky".

After Dr Who, he worked with Hammer, BBC Radio and eventually wrote a number of history books with Anthony Read right up into the last decade or so when his health began to fail. Incidentally, Read''s own 2015 obit name-checked him too.

From what I could see, he was sort of a Lloyd Grossman who went to the US and made Lloyd Grossman type TV shows. Before he moved to the States in the 60s he was a Daily Mail journalist. And Biblio ain't the only one pissed about the lack of Fisher's obit. Just seems a right lack of respect for certain folk (writers, TV character actors...) by major publications these days. Really this site is far more respectful, between the lot of us someone somewhere catches the news and reports it, and someone somewhere remembers them fondly (not counting Ian Brady types)... Even if it is for a stilted 30 second cameo at WrestleMania IV!

Stopping treatment - anyone heard yet?

This guy next to Howard Finkel. US TV Brit iirc. Also, nearly 20 years younger than I have in my notes, apparently!
-
Aye, and what happened to Mark E Smith the year after the BBC did this? Get Burt on the 2019 list then.
-
Someone else last night: how come this thread still exists? Me: Ah, Paul's not been on yet to shut it. That's me shown up.

I remember reading about their diagnosis on this forum! Feck, that means I've been going to this place for a decade.

Silence of the Hams is must see. Honest. Would I lie to you? Godfather actually turns out quite well once that hack Brando leaves the screen. Frenzy, Hitchcock made 30 or 40 better films. Wicker Man is great fun, though it's hard to sympathise with Ed Woodward imo.

iirc OL section is pretty much everyone who isn't commissioned by the Obits editor.

OK, fine. What did Henry Allingham attribute as the secret to a long life? a) Chastity and the Protestant work ethic b) Chocolate c) A strict diet d) Whisky, fags, and wild women

This guy? (I presume, given Handy asked)

Inadvertently changed wrestling history. One of the final straws for Mick Foley in WCW was that he was scheduled to face the "unbeatable" Yoshi Kwan at Fall Brawl which would lead to bigger things for him, only for reasons unknown to everyone bar Ric Flair who was writing the show at the time, Kwan then lost back to back matches to Van Hammer (future thread alumnus) of all people before the PPV match, thus killing Foley's push and interest. He moved to WWF, and was one of the keystones of the era that killed off WCW. Anyhow, Kwan was Chris Champion.

300? That's silly, drol, if you'd gone sensible like 290 we'd have all been in agreement here.

Spoiler alert

The thread police points the diversion to other users.

It's really difficult to keep DI from the lead in these games.

18. Somehow.

Like minded individuals, in costumes, meeting up at a pre-arranged designated area where copious amounts of drinking and shagging notoriously happen. Can't think what you mean.

Me and Drol seem joined at the fucking hip in this - tied for 4th or 5th for about 4-5 months!

Spade's already updated the scoreboard! Top man. Only 2nd time in DDP history I have reached 100 points. Altitude sickness!
