The Rolling Probabilistic Ddp Scoreboard
msc replied to gcreptile's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
I think 2015 would have seen DDT crowned champion on a 4 point unique bonus, on the 99 points a piece for you both and the average age second tiebreaker coming into force, but that's within margin of error on a quick calculation too. (58.4 to 60.5). No change in 2014. Checking 2013.... -

Many people call them dads here, though there are many regional varieties.

Err, don't think Toastie was referring a person... -
Nah, wrong, Cat, Dead Again was Derek Jacobi.

Dunno. Last freeze, I phoned up my Aunt (oldest living relative) to see how she was coping. 90 now. Her response? "Freezer's stocked up, enough tins of food to last a fortnight, and I've got the heating on full blast.." Smarter than most of us, imo.

Watching the BAFTAs last night, Ridley Scott seemed in good form for a man aged 81. Future Deathlist candidate for certain, but didn't look like someone who will be warranting our attention on age alone for a while yet.

Just give my tactics away aloud to Deadsox, on the offchance I reach Round 2. Speaking of which, you can send in teams for Round 2 as of...... NOW! As usual, deadline is midnight on the 28th Feb/1st March crossover. Scottish/GMT time, which is 5 years ahead of New York, and a bit behind Germany, and considerably behind Heef Time Zone. For those new, if you are losing heavily, well sorry - better luck next year? If you are in a close tie, or drawing, you might wish to send in a Round 2 team anyhow. Imagine you won a penalty shootout, and then hadn't put a team in? I'd expect lots of mocking, tbh. My team has been sent to YWillz already (on the off chance I actually reach Round2, of course), so no one can accuse me of nicking their secret picks I don't know about yet. Team entirely picked off my own shortlist, bar one pick who someone on here kept going on about not lasting much longer in threads here, at which point I thought "Hey, thanks for the tip!"

I thought you were doubting they'd avoid relegation! Which they wont. Reminds me of a time Motherwell took on Rangers in the Cup, gave it a big go beyond their usual that year, and only lost 4-3. Next week, got gubbed in a relegation decider 3-0 by the mighty Jags themselves. Of course, Motherwell avoided relegation because Scottish football is corrupt Falkirk's ground didn't meet new made up requirements that year, but that's another story...

Whilst stumbling over his words a bit, James Ivory looked fairly good for someone who will be 90 this summer.

Posted a few weeks back that he's on hiatus due to events in his private life.
-
Well... I'd laugh. I imagine our resident Spurs fan wouldn't, though.

The only downside to handing over the Crowdsourced Deathlist to Joey for next year is some of the terrible puns and headlines I will not be able to inflict on you all. I might PM him the best ones.
-
The bits in bold is what really makes the list.
-
Yeah, 2010 being the coldest winter in 100 years or something daft like that really annoyed the oldest members of my family who liked to say "Call this cold? It's nothing on the Winter of 47!"
-
So, you actually are Tomasz Schafernaker, and keep voting for yourself in the Crowdsourced. Makes sense.
-
M is a fantastic film, mind you. Peter Lorre was great at needling sympathy out of horrific characters.

Wrong on all 3, sorry. NHS, actually, so I'll assume your general point stands! Private schools used to (still do?) take on one pupil per year from each "deprived" bit of Glasgow sans the tuition fees hence the rugby (which I was shite at).
-
Right, story paraphrased somewhat after nearly 2 decades, but anyhow... Head of Games at school was one of the those PE stereotypes. This day was quite bad, even for Glasgow. Thunder, lightning, pissing down and bouncing right up in the air (hell, as a Scot, I have a closer relationship with rain than half my family, but this day was particularly mental even then), hail, you name it. Meant to be doing rugby practice. "Only useless wankers hide from a wee bit of rain" yelled the Head from under his umbrella before going to inspect the kids actually good at sports. After 5 mins of this, one of the softer teachers decided "sod this" and brought us all in. Didn't clear up after 10, so we got told to pack up. So got my uniform back on, when into the dressing room walks scowling Head of Games. "What you lot fucking doing in here?" "Hiding from a wee bit of rain with the rest of the useless wankers, Sir" was my reply without thinking about it. Alas, only one of us found it funny. Luckily, because I'm a jammy sod, I got the detention appealed because the Deputy Head thought it was hilarious.

DL Status Updates: Statements, Obsevations & Verbal Tennis
msc replied to Lord Fellatio Nelson's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
^ 15 since Hogmanay apparently. 20-30 notable ones per year (by UK standards, see below) but hundreds of ones nobody even notices bar your experts. They happen several times a year in the Bristol Channel too because its built around an ancient fault line, but even the biggest earthquake in recorded UK history (in Wales in the 1980s) was a whole 5.4 (bigger than today's 4.4) and it caused... minor damage to some chimneys. Terrifying, hold the front page... -
Hooray! Hooray hooray hooray, hooray, hooray... It's the tune that never dies.

^ It was 30 mins when I started typing but people keep trying to have conversations with me here. Very distracting.

I was going to make that quip and missed out by half an hour, cooking. Timing! Anyone using "summat" on here has been reading Maryport comments for a long time, basically, imo.
