Jowell has a debate lined up for January in the House of Lords. Can't think what inspired this. Last stand?

In the last decade, actresses who make their debut on the Deathlist have a 53% chance of being dead within two years. (ie debuts on 2015 list, dead by 2017). Prunella Scales looks like officially remaining one of the 47% (she's got 8 days to go), but even so: Leah Bracknell, Betty White, Jill Gascoine, Honor Blackman. Taking out the obviously terminally ill person here, you have a 53% chance of a hit with the other 3 in 2017, which, for the person with a struggling shortlist, is a far better statistical chance than a hit from prostate cancer. If the Cmme drop any of them, those chances increase exponentially via sods law.

She is 65, iirc.

The only decent star of Gogglebox.

Personally I find New Years Day (reveal of the new Deathlist, people's DDP teams) to be the most interesting deadpool day of the year, and nobody of note ever seems to die on it, or needs to!

Aha, the Anna Holmlund pick come to test me, as predicted.

So How's Your 2018 Shortlist Looking?
msc replied to Joey Russ's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
Can't help but be reminded of this: -
Last week and a bit of 2016 - Piers Seller, 2017 - Bruce McCandless 2016 - Carrie Fisher, Debbie Reynolds, Richard Adams, Liz Smith, George Michael... 2017 -? Hmm, Judith Kerr and Mark Hamill should probably go to the doctors tomorrow.
-
A mere 10/15 , though it was all New Who which I am less familiar with.
-
My shortlist never shows this much hurry to go from January onwards...
-
If it were different, there'd be clarification.

Yep, and we're still waiting lists from regulars like @Sean, @gcreptile, @Death Impends (his list doesn't tend to come in till Hogmanay, but we're not forgetting him!), @Book, @Switch, etc etc. The "12-50, not just 50" rule has encouraged a bunch of forum regulars to take part for the first time, too, which is nice.

Political Discussions And Ranting Thread

Brexit voters, mostly, according to polls! -
Genuine question. Was Hardegen actually a Nazi/SS guy, or just a ranking U-boat/soldier guy? If the latter, bit mean to have him next to folk who ordered mass murders, be like comparing Winkle Brown to the chap who OK'd the firebombing of Dresden or something.

Dick Enberg, US sports broadcaster, at 82 of a heart attack.

Hmm, I don't but then it's whoever the Cmme decide... To answer the thread, instead of a huge list, I'll give 3 names. Two "big names" I think they should give a run out, and one frail Deathlisty name. The two big names are Barbara Bush (92 next year, Deathlist loves First Ladies, also, meant to be frail nowadays), and Mikhail Gorbachev (I mean, seriously, he's never been on the bloody list!). The frail Deathlisty name is Sir Stirling Moss, who, according to motorsport expert OoO, "doubts he will see 90" (September 2019). Also, eagle eyed Deathlisters MPFC and Sean note he spent 5 months in hospital recovering from a chest infection this year. Certainly sounds like he's nearing the final lap.

You know what will happen as soon as the Queen or Jimmy Carter or the like gets dropped. Few days into the new year: "We are interrupting this programme to bring you some breaking news..." ie sods law.

So How's Your 2018 Shortlist Looking?
msc replied to Joey Russ's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
A day or two ago I realised one of the names on my shortlist was actually 30 years older than I'd thought! Which I'm sure is flattering, though worth less points... (I was mixing them up with someone else, I don't just randomly guess at ages...) I am fairly content with current shortlist, but I need to find my Alan Aspins and Anna Holmlunds of 2018 to replace the good picks with at the last minute. You know, the msc way. -
Blame the dementia, Pike. Words rarely said!

One of Sean's old favorites, who is definitely a politician! Keith Vaz inquiry suspended due to Keith Vaz "medical reasons". According to a grumpy Tory, he's been claiming health issues for a while (though he last spoke in the House on December 11th, not that long ago).

Most in danger is one of: 03. Robert Clary 04. Beverly Cleary 09. Reverend Billy Graham 12. Edgar Ray Killen 13. Jim Leavelle 14. Norman Lloyd 15. Ted Mack (Aus Politician) (WILDCARD) 16. Jerry Maren 19. Sumner Redstone 23. Ian St John 24. Mary Wilson, Baroness Wilson of Rievaulx Because I believe Death Impends is on for a hattrick of December 30th hits in this game. I support the demise of Edgar Ray Killen, because he's not very nice, and because no one has picked him on the Crowdsourced Deathlist...

Yeah, you don't want Leslie Philips to die in the next 10 days now!

I'm always legit surprised when a Nobel Prize winner doesn't pick up a QO, so Nicolaas Bloembergen.
-
Although technically, once in the Lords and voting on bills, they become a politician by definition. Just not an elected one.

According to Wiki, Zoe Tate came out in the early 90s, before that Anna Friel kiss. Prisoner predates both, of course. Though apparently the first lesbian kiss on British TV was from 1974 involving Alison Steadman?
