  1. Yeah, I went to edit him too only to see he wasn't on the list. I suppose with thousands of names mentioned on here regularly, and only 50 spots, it's a surprise that doesn't happen more often, tbh.
  2. Was convinced Bettencourt was on the list. As she got axed due to the 25 names from the previous year rule, that'll explain it. Knew one of them would go - sods law. Bettencourt, WGS, Teddy Taylor - what is it with my migraines and a flood of celeb deaths in their wake...
  3. I mean, no offence intended, of course, but I now imagine that even if there was a truly wonderful occasion, TheOldLady would be there to dampen it down. Like, someone's given birth to a new baby child, and there she is, warning about child mortality rates! Or it's a sunny day in the UK, and there's the skin cancer warning!
  4. Sorry to hear about your grandad (RIP), hope your dad and his sister both better soon, good you got to see the Foos again (I missed out on my favourite bands when they were active) and sorry to hear that brother in law (?) you hate hasn't yet been eaten by a crocodile yet. I think thats everything in order, there. Also, cable car? London? What's the point of that!

    Political Frailty

Not a surprise as I think I mentioned on here a year or two ago he'd looked really frail on something. Beaten by a Maxton. Alas, a money grabbing Maxton. Jimmy would have turned in his grave!

    Jake Lamotta

100 (Schmeling in my head) plus 96 (lamotta's "stage age") was closer. But, you know, Maths...

    The 12th death of 2017

Booth. Sean's not updated us on his whereabouts for a few weeks.

    Thoughts On The 2017 List

Remember my (only) rule of Deathlist. Never 11 without the 12. There'll be one more hit this year at the very least.

    Crashing Companies

Citizens income is going to come in most countries at some point this century, most likely. Purely on necessity. So many jobs are going to be automated or die away, and the people still need to eat... Or we can have the French revolution, everywhere, of course. I think it was Mao's advisor who said it was still too soon to tell if the French revolution had been a success.

Him and Schleming lived for a combined 197 years, nearly - incredible for boxers, really. RIP to one of the Deathlist legends

    Who'll Be Last One Standing?

Oh yeah, besides the "Who will be x hit of the year" threads, the only decent poll on the forum...

I know, imagine having one of Raging Bull's opponents like Joey Russ on the forum to talk to...

    Crashing Companies

The evidence of my own experience is that kids LOVE toys. Can't get enough of them, black hole of money. The issue is Toys R Us sell over priced SHITE.

One family member could be mistaken. Two is a case of watch this space. Anyhow, it's September, and if he is dead, it's not like he's going anywhere.

    Ideas And Possibilities For 2018

Didn't she end up without the Labour whip too, after plotting against Brown? Reminds me of Benn's own comments about Kinnock: (paraphrased) "He changed his opinion so often to suit what he thought the likes of (The Sun) wanted, in the end the voters didn't believe a word he said was genuine."

    Advent Avalanche

Aye, the fact that the average life expectancy for someone with his type of dementia hits in 2018 for him iirc should see Baddiel Sr on far more deadpool teams next year should he live that far.

    He wasn't booked, you see.

    Morrissey

That Morrissey link just led me down the rabbit hole of discovering there's been a twitter storm about James Corden being friendly with Sean Spicer at the Emmys. Kiss on the cheek or some thing. And to be fair, for once I can understand the furore. I mean, hanging out with James Corden is going to be really bad for Sean Spicer's reputation...

Carston Mohren and the Swiss opera singer, for example.

    Ideas And Possibilities For 2018

The Crowdsourced Deathlist is basically a forum poll. Top 50 carry through.

Still no QO for Qureshi, but he did get one for the Alt Obits pool. This puts (our?) Cancerous Hatred 90 points ahead of the unstoppable G. Tierney with 3 and a bit months left. Also, it tells me I heavily overestimated the fame criteria for the game!

    Rotten Dead Pool

Whenever the Rotten pool rolls over, I think "this time I'll take it seriously". Then after the first dozen "not in the database" picks I give up.

    Death Anniversary Thread

Two years ago today, Brian Sewell died. There was a great gnashing of teeth among deadpoolers. Jackie Collins died on the same day. She appeared on Wogan once, and that was shown in a hastily scheduled series of Wogan retrospectives that Christmas. And did anyone pick up on this? Actually, 6 DDP teams, as you were.

    20th Century Americans Sitcoms

According to a post in the fanmail forums, Mandan had a stroke and is now in poor health and unable to respond to mail. You get your leads where you can find them, but the incessant autograph hunters do tend to have a higher hit rate than, say, the Inquirer.
  25. Peter Sallis. Meeting a ghost would be cool.
