Thoughts: The Deathlist committee have a nose for aged actresses about to snuff it. Maureen O'Hara, Lauren Bacall, Luise Rainer and Elaine Stitch all survived less than 20 months from their Deathlist debut. This is ominous news for Mary Tyler Moore and Prunella Scales, and indeed for Liz Smith. Me, a year ago Smith and Moore continued this recent trend, which leaves Prunella Scales as the survivor so far. This suggests that all of Betty White, Honor Blackman, Jill Gascoine, Liz Dawn and Leah Bracknell will be dead by January 1st 2019, and that White and Blackman may actually be better people to carry over onto the 2018 list (should they survive 2017) than some others.

    Robert Hardy

The books are perfectly fine kids fantasy stuff. Better quality than the Goosebumps books, no doubt (but not as fun, of course). The films are not very good. Badly paced, reliant on badly directed inexperienced kid actors, and entirely held up by a bunch of top class actors in the adult roles. Who saw their roles cut down considerably, ie Robert Hardy.

Damn, that's a shame. Love Columbo.

Ah, I see. I've never watched it.

    Do You Actually Research?

It's very simple. Google "Young people who are ill and totally not on David Quantick's Showbiz Pals shortlist", and hope for the best.

He's (apparently) in Game of Thrones, but his fanmail is directed towards offices in LA iirc.

The Fringes Of Fame/family Of The Famous

Do you think this current state of Not being on a single DDP team would be true if the info had been available, per chance?

    Bruce Forsyth

A sobering thought indeed as we're visiting my 89 year old Aunt tomorrow.

Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't Roy Dotrice live in LA now?

As of last year, Baxter still lived at his home in Highgate, and was getting out and about, iirc.

    Windy City Deadpool 2017-18

10 left alive (Al-Baghdadi almost certainly gone to limbo-land, QO wise) from team Pan Breed here. Hallyday, Bracknell, Downie, Dean Francis, Meads, Cameron-Blackie, Rayya Elias, Charlotte Rae, Greg Gilbert, Sgt Anna Irwin. Will be curious to see how many are left by end of the game.

Died in Denville Hall, apparently. Was still living in the Cotswold's when I started this thread, so a relatively swift downturn. Still, that's the thing. Folk are always doing well for their age, until they're not.

Authors Last A Long Time, But....

Bloody Sod ruins my old joke about how the JFK conspiracy seemed able to bump off Popes and Mafia dons, seemingly, but were unable to take out the author of one nutty book...

    Last Word

Hardy in top spot with others missing, imo (remember the BBC link there). Also, not beyond them to have a blast of Born to be Wild at the very end.

    Harry Potter

"Harry Potter actor", the BBC headline says. Beyond that and All Creatures (and Siegfred Farnon in his hands is a masterful comic creation) there's also Hot Metal, Churchill The Wilderness Years, Edward VII, and M.R. James Ghost Story for Christmas adaptation The Stalls of Barchester. All heavily recommended.

Biggest music death of the year alongside Chuck, if true. Imo, of course.

    Mollie Sugden et al

That's a massive shock.... that he made it to 73 with his lifestyle. Anyhow, quite often tipped for deadpooling success by one of our own on here: Toast? Handrejka?

Left to right for younger/American posters: Jim Callaghan (2005 graduate), Douglas-Home (1995), Maggie T (2013), MacMillan (died in 86 so missed out), Queen Libby, Husband of Pan Breed Favourite Mary Wilson (on list in 94, miss in 95), Ted Heath (2005): six Deathlisters.
