A noted amateur boxer, Christie was undefeated in 78 of 80 amateur boxing matches, and was the only Brit to win all ten titles in the sport. On turning professional, he had a similar explosive start, until a shock defeat to Mark Kaylor in 1985 left his potential unfulfilled. Post boxing, he took to coaching, and in recent years he was behind an acclaimed biography. He appeared in 41st place on the list, and completes a dozen hits for this years list before the Summer Solstice has even taken place.
