I like Rude Kid's write up on the DDP: "Country & Western musician, who boasts that her ranch is "the seventh largest tourist attraction in Tennessee". Dizzy heights of fame indeed."
-
From his Telegraph obit: BBC news referenced Dreyfus just a few weeks ago, so I'd expect a QO of some sort before too long. News travels slow in academia.

We don't get that many ants round here - conditions not great for them. It's house bugs instead, and in the old tenements, they're everywhere. Needs more spiders to deal with them. Whereas last summer, caught a bloody hornet in the kitchen, right as Dad was visiting. Showed him it right as he was telling me I was exaggerating. "Bloody hell, look at the size of that fucking thing!" Anyhow, deadpooling: it corrupts your train of thought. Years ago, I'd have seen the Ilie Nastase outbursts and thought "bit of a sod". Now I wonder: Hmm, signs of a Drop 40 bonus inducing brain tumour related moodswing? -
Thing about Cruddas - he was meant to be in danger last time and 2010 too. He has a habit of surviving. Mind you, so did Michael Forsyth once.

His beard reminds me of a sort of Dutch Bob Symes.

He debuted in the 1980s stage play tour alongside his wife Pearl (Juliette Kaplan, b. 1939) and his would be girlfriend Marina (Jean Fergusson b. 1944). All three proved popular on tour and got added to the TV series. They added a whole bunch of new characters in the mid-to-late 1980s (including Jean Alexander's Auntie Wainwright, and Thora Hird) who kept the show going until the vast majority of the cast died around the turn of the century.

Sad news. Remember a CL game a few years back where he gave Man City a lot of trouble.

Some background watching for the interested, given Truman and LBJ died a month apart... Ex-deadpool fave Walter Cronkite breaking the news both times.

He's not dead. In fact, he's becoming critical of Putin. But all this talk of new threads today and Boris's anniversary makes me ponder how Gorbachev has somehow, despite rumours of ill health frequently, never chalked up a single Deathlist appearance. A bigger surprise than the lack of a John Wetton or (Insert Italian actress here).

Time and again, I feel those who die young aren't half as surprising as those who live to an old age sometimes. -
Tony Booth used to campaign for Labour so its possible Mary Wilson has known Cherie since she were a small wean.

Weekend opinion polls in Scotland show big shift towards Tories. -
Hallyday is a nailed on Drop 40 candidate should he live till January 1st. However, I don't think he will with that latest news.

There was a documentary a few years back in which Cherie Blair interviewed the living PM's wives, including Clarissa and (Pan Breed favourite) Mary Wilson. Alas, I missed it at the time, and have never found it sneaking online.

According to oddschecker, Ladbrokes are doing 4/1 on Lib Dems getting a higher vote (not seats) than Labour. -
Her book is alright, though it ends when Sir Anthony dies, as if that was the end of her notable life. She might feel it was, but a postscript of "I'm now 90-something, have lots of cats and read a lot" would have been nice...

He's retiring to spend more time with his invasion fleet.

Well, it is extra work for the Semifinalists. What I'll do is next month I'll PM each of the final four and ask them about a "3rd place playoff". If they all agree, it'll happen. If one person dislikes the idea, we'll go without, and no one need find out who.

Graham Allen MP standing down due to "extended periods of ill health". He was looking forward to campaigning a few days ago...

A priest with cancer died. However, he seems purely to have been a local community priest who only got regional press for being ill. Unique 2 pointer for Death Impends anyhow. This is turning out a bit like that time Real Madrid smashed Bayern Munich 5-0 on aggregate... . DDT vs Rad’s Die-monds in the Sky (Rad Guy) 3-1 2. “O” (Gcreptile) vs William Henry Harrison Die-in-a-Month Squad (Death Impends) 2-16 3. 101 Great Practical Jokes with Luciano Re Cecconi (Spade Cooley) vs Deadsox 2-2 4. The GUN’11 (Grim Up North) vs Heef 4-4

No, DDT mentioned it above. Despite it referring to a print obit, and copy and pasting it, it doesn't actually link to the actual paper, so lacking of proof. I wouldn't worry though - her case was covered by a dozen QOs last month, so if none of them covering her dying in the next week... As for Iain Reid, cremated 2 days ago, and not a sniff of a QO. I've even been checking the local death announcements in the papers for Gcreptile - not a Scooby snack so far.

Largest margin? Feck... Our man Danczuk. Especially if he's now running as an Indy MP.
-
Back to Keith Vaz, I meant! But oh look, he's now got the next PM instead...
-
Happy birthday! Sorry, DDT, doesn't really work if someone else mentions it. Otherwise I could just say to TMIB "Hey, big man, totally saw an Alan Aspin thing in the print Telegraph, honest..."

Oh I don't think you'll get much pro-Blair argument here, Shaun! Horrible man. I've read his book, too. Funny thing, to me at least: Michael Foot and Tony Benn couldn't stand each other!
