Yeah, the only issue I'm thinking of is that the obits might be confusing two similarly named actresses (which happens a lot). ie Ivy died but some other actress with a similar graduated at that time period. However, its equally likely (more so, imo) that the 1920s DOB was in fact utterly wrong and a whole bunch of regional papers reported it from time to time without double checking their facts. You'd be surprised how little fact checking happens at times. To pick an extreme one at random, thanks to the research of some SF mags in the 80s, there are Doctor Who fans today who think Harold Pinter appeared in a Troughton era Doctor Who under a pseudonym, because it was the name Pinter used to act back in the 1950s pre-fame. Despite the actual actor still being alive, and saying it was him (and Pinter himself saying he wasn't in Dr Who), there's still folk out there who believe it and repeat it. Anyhow, that's more of a tangent than anything.

Heh, I'd suggest expecting exact grammar from the comments of a footballer might be wishful thinking, but I don't want to be cruel. (Or, indeed, those in glasshouses, stones, etc...)

Minor correction - Cyrus Christie said his uncle "had been given a year" - far as I know, we don't know when that was that he was actually told the prognosis. Downie's doing a Martin Crowe, reaching prognosis spot and living a bit beyond. Only difference, Crowe's was in November, so he lived into 2016. Downie's see him to circa April, so another six months is still 2017... As for Bracknell, I suspected she'd see Halloween but not Christmas. Given the last two "updates", I wonder if she'll see the Champions League final.

The mighty Thistle have in fact secured a top six finish in Scotland this season. The board will need to start handing out those altitude sickness pills then!

Unless you're Alan Aspin! I swear, I was tempted to actually write a damned article myself and mention his death in it (for a QO) but it got veto'd by my better half on accounts of it being cheating, if you could imagine that! (There might be one or two, or ten lies in the previous statement - never let the truth get in the way of an anecdote...)

I completely forgot who I picked, 5 months on. Michael Royalty King of Romania, 1927-30 and 1940-47 25-Oct-1921 TBD 02-Jan-2017 2 Daniel arap Moi Head of State President of Kenya, 1978-2002 02-Sep-1924 TBD 02-Jan-2017 3 Liliane Bettencourt Relative World's 16th richest person, 2005 21-Oct-1922 TBD 02-Jan-2017 4 Glen Campbell Country Musician Rhinestone Cowboy 22-Apr-1936 TBD 02-Jan-2017 5 Franco Zeffirelli Film Director Romeo and Juliet 12-Feb-1923 TBD 02-Jan-2017 6 Freeman Dyson Physicist Theoretical physicist at Institute for Advanced Study 15-Dec-1923 TBD 02-Jan-2017 7 Mikhail Gorbachev Head of State Final leader of the Soviet Union 02-Mar-1931 TBD 02-Jan-2017 8 Antony Hewish Astronomer Co-Discoverer of pulsars 11-May-1924 TBD 02-Jan-2017 9 Glynis Johns Actor Winifred Banks in Mary Poppins 05-Oct-1923 TBD 02-Jan-2017 10 Mário Soares Apparently this lot. I get bored finding out who isn't in their damned database before too long, really.

Yeah. My gut feeling is she's dead, ,but the DOB is wrong, though annoyingly she's the one member of the main cast whose earlier life biography is vague in the series history book. However, this interview from 1995 has the following line which could suggest fresh out of school in the early 50s? If so, I'm wrong, and where did 1921 come from? It's even been used in newspapers before. I think she was likely to be in her 20s when she toured with the Osiris lot, but the exact date of when she did that is the question.

Masha Leon, Tim Pigott-Smith, Chris Morahan, Parv Bancil, Marthe Gosteli, Brian Matthew apparently. So, you know, EXACTLY as I predicted then.

Tim Pigot-Smith, Harry Huskey, Arnold Clark and an archive spot. I know its up within minutes but I've not peaked, just a guess.

Third link to it inside 24 hours, even. It's a popular Stage obit!

Well, remember the BBC didn't have her in the final episode as they didn't think she was worthy of the send off. (A decision which a lot of Summer Wine fans vehemently disagreed with.) So, you know, they might just not plan to run her an obit at all, sadly.

Something I did think about re Sallis. I haven't looked too deeply into it, so people can point out wrong I am. He used to be fairly on tap to pay tribute to his old colleagues as they went, with even a single sentence on the BBC. I can't recall the last time he's even done that in recent years. Obviously he can't see anymore to go out much, and apparently he was "too ill to do voice work" since about 2011.

They've gone for the 1935 date too.
-
Were you doing a Google search for "recent drowning victims" or something? Hah.
-
I've always been surprised he's never shown up on the Deathlist, tbh. A wise choice so far, admittedly. Mind you, they skipped on Reynolds too.

Aye, good luck keeping that ticker, er, ticking! -
He's going deeper underground.

Obit Although that obit has her born 1935, which is a staggering difference from her widely accepted 1921 birthdate! EDIT - Can't believe I got ninja'd looking for a sodding sad faced emoticon FFS, how daft!

Nae worries.

That makes annoying sense actually with hindsight (Sir Creep calls certs slam dunks as in "you can't miss them"*), but so it goes! *Although my very brief PE class career of playing the game suggests you really can miss them, quite easily.

Don't worry, if you hadn't, people might have been forced to discuss Eric Clapton. So, bullet dodged there.

I was doing some work and missed this earlier, but not to worry, the dead stay dead. Unless they're Brian Matthew, of course. Three points for Death Impends, a slam dunk in the NBA but is it one in the Deathlist Cup? 1. DDT vs Rad’s Die-monds in the Sky (Rad Guy) 0-1 2. “O” (Gcreptile) vs William Henry Harrison Die-in-a-Month Squad (Death Impends) 2-9 3. 101 Great Practical Jokes with Luciano Re Cecconi (Spade Cooley) vs Deadsox 2-0 4. The GUN’11 (Grim Up North) vs Heef 2-1

Sir Lynton Crosby, for servicing David Cameron Sir Eric Pickles, for service to the Sontarans Sir Gerald Kaufman Sir Danny Alexander Can't think what you mean...

EDIT - Feck it, this tweet here. They both want a great trade deal, and the Chinese tend to think in terms of centuries, not decades. I think they will, eventually.

More likely they mass on the Korean border to sort out the North Koreans imo. Their sabre rattling endangers the Chinese long term plans after all.
