Political Discussions And Ranting Thread
msc replied to Deathray's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
To be honest, he managed to kill less people than one Glasgow binman did by accident. Crap terrorist. -
Precedent: " There was a short period of controversy when the king was pronounced 'clinically dead' late on 5 Feb. An emergency meeting of the Death List ethics committee decided full physical death was required before he could be counted. Luckily we didn't have to wait long." Either Mr Healy didn't go the full hog, or he's the best preserved zombie this side of Jerry Lawler.

There was me going "Oh aye I remember that post, when was it made again".... 7 years ago! We're all getting older by the day, except those who don't of course, like Mr Fisher now.

It's the losing the ability to breath which is usually the kicker.

Cricket Thread. Only Mad Dogs And Englishmen
msc replied to The Four Horsemen's topic in DeathList Forum
Completely forgot about him to be honest. As a cricketer I assume a QO will be a cert. -
Somewhat apt!

I feel bad for Bettie Kennedy Not only did Martin and Dexter Die next to her But I can't even be bothered to find a word that rhymes with Kennedy. Second verse I feel bad for József Szécsényi...

Re the Hume tribute on Mcguinness: Apparently I am very late to the news that John Hume has severe dementia (apparently not mentioned on this forum before), and a journalist pal tells me he is "not very well at all" these days.

That might be my favourite episode. "I'm a very careful man, Father, very careful." "Except when it comes to taking precautions in the bedroom, it seems!" "Ah, now, you wouldn't be advising the use of artificial contraception now, would you?" "Ah, well.... feck off!" And that damned brick! All of it, glorious.

I liked my joke reply to that one, which got entirely no sold.

Ah, YW, would bring a tear to a fan of McGonagall.

It's the luck of the draw, Rover. Not much luck there, I'll admit...
-
Massive update? Why, which popular pick just got the last rites?
-
Colin Dexter, creator of Inspector Morse, has died, BBC Breaking News. Damn fine writer, actually, and a favourite of my mum - she'll be gutted.
-
Don't encourage him, Toast, last time he made it Keith Vaz!

Biggest death in 1997 imo. Don't think anything else of note happened that year, bar Burgess of course.
-
Don't laugh, Maryport, you just need one of your unique folk to snuff it to go level with Spade as it stands. You'd need a second death as I'm pretty sure "youngest age average" would favour Spade.

Reminding myself of the Quarterfinal draw. Also, don't laugh: we're now open for teams for that round. As you can see, all the matches are done and dusted already... I suspect and understand teams will come in near the deadline (31st, midnight, as usual) but I suppose I had to officially open the submission period.

No, he's still going. I have read his autobiography though. More a collection of random scattered anecdotes than a memoir, iirc.

Only Garn and Rover seemed to trust my "three months maximum" prognosis for McGuiness, and benefit here. Rad’s Die-monds in the Sky (Rad Guy) vs Bibliogryphon 1-0 The Dead Cow vs Tommy J’s Eleven to Heaven – Or Elsewhere for Nevin (Death Impends) 6-6 Heef vs Death Comes to Wembley (Garn2) 4-3 Maryportfuncity vs 101 Great Practical Jokes with Luciano Re Cecconi (Spade Cooley) 0-3 Captain Chorizo vs The GUN’11 (Grim Up North) 1-1 The Cooler Name (Switch) vs DDT 0-2 Deadsox vs Pedro67 0-0 Rover’s Rovers (Roverandout) vs “O” (gcreptile) 2-6

Think the next one will be an expected one, so Downie.

Good point as I keep forgetting Perez de Cuellar exists, even after about 5 years on the Deathlist.

Dullest Deathlist hit ever?
