    The Deathlist Cup

I wouldn't worry, Joey - I suspect in 9 out of 10 cases it'll come to deft picking of the right names, rather than exquisite research.

Only about 30 mins I was joking about us being joint bottom of the DDP - quality jinxing.

    Derby Dead Pool 2017

Why did he get all his points deducted? At that point? He had 30 points based on one joker dying. Joker turned out to have died in 2015. Finished in joint 97th place in the end.

    Derby Dead Pool 2017

Those DDP heavyweights Captain Hemlocks Twenty and Dead Last? Dead Right! atop the league table as usual! Meanwhile Spade, DI and, err, me are outside the top 100. Reminds me of Crazycarl's top 3 placing for a bit last year... well, then he got all his points deducted, of course.

    The EU Referendum Hokey Cokey

A Labour collapse in seats = someone else rising. UKIP seem allergic to parliamentary electoral success, so that vacuum will go somewhere. Bloody hell, all Tim Farron has to do is hide away and not say anything, and he might accidentally become the most successful Lib Dem leader of all time.

    The EU Referendum Hokey Cokey

I wouldn't trust Twitter, it thought Brexit would lose. If they say Labours done I'd expect a poll rise, that's how out of touch it is with the general public.

They waited two hours to announce Ford's death. They'd wait a few hours so it could be the top story.

    The EU Referendum Hokey Cokey

Doubt it, seems like a fairly big chunk of Labour vote down south is pro-Brexit. Many things will have them hemorrhage votes, this wont be one of them.

World's obscurest DDP candidate last year.

    King Michael Of Romania

He's a troll. Trolls can be entertaining if they are clever and interesting, but JTrost1234 has neither of those qualities. Wasn't there a Deathlist poster years back who solely posted poetry about how Deathlist picks were getting better? I might have made that up.

    The Deathlist Cup

34 and a half hours left in case anyones out there going "Maybe I'll enter, but I'm too shy" - what's the worst that can happen? Outside of getting thumped 10-0 by Death Impends of course...

    Deathrace 2017

Extra thought: unless I read it wrong, the original Deathrace rules never said anything about banning kids, but the current ones do. Did someone try to put one in their team after assumption no one would do that? Or was a clarification of an unwritten rule. With so many newer posters who might get involved in games over the years, that looks like a precedent to my sleep deprived brain for a ban on a certain category?

    Deathrace 2017

At the risk of being a party pooper, Maryport, I'd strongly suggest banning them entirely. We've never needed to before, but in nearly a decade no one has been thick enough*/smart enough (delete as applicable) to front load their team with them, just as no one has front loaded their team with missing but probably dead folk - yer Stricklands and so on. But otherwise, it's not a game, is it? It's an announcement of victory at a scheduled time. *doesn't refer to DI but I'd presume/hope he knew that anyhow!

    Private Death List

Being a pessimistic sort, I would be top of my own list. A few folk I've known have been mentioned on these forums in the past, and I wouldn't have picked them for the DDP, though in most cases, nobody got to pick them! But no, not a private list, or a DDP list, or a forum list, or anything: I have a few likely QO folk in my family (including a parent) but I wouldn't dream of including on a list - huge difference between being fond of Tony Benn, and being fond of your dad - and there's a very sick relative* who might sneak a QO but whom I have no intention of mentioning even after their death. *One drawback of Deathlist life: when you realise someone's health is grimmer than they do, through their diagnosis...

    Cartoonists And Animators

Careful, you don't want to upset SC. LOL True dat. Moreso 'Belgian cartoonist' used in a sentence on a website loosely concerned with a minutia of fame. Like stories about Estonian club owners. SC Hey, nothing wrong with Estonian club owners stories. I once heard that Rowdy Joonas Purje once let his nightclub stay up till 8pm, if you can imagine the decadence... Heh.

It is, but unlike 2014 and 2010 it has the sense of the quiet before the storm to me. An awful lot of proper topplers, just a case of when.

    The EU Referendum Hokey Cokey

YES lost for many reasons, one of them being that Alex Salmond is, quite frankly, a bit of a shit politician who kept walking into obvious traps. Obvious traps set by Alastair fucking Darling, we're not exactly talking political masterminds here. Also, Plaid have done a hell of a lot of Brexit related Indy moaning, which is quite something when you consider Wales voted 53% in favour of leaving!

    The EU Referendum Hokey Cokey

Aye, I'm pretty much your stereotype "swing voter", but I'll certainly be a tactical anti-GlasgowCityCouncil voter in May! Although of the other parties Willie Rennie has, from very little talent, overachieved (6 years in post, got the party winning constituencies up here again), and Ruth Davidson must be the most successful Tory leader up here since MacMillan or then abouts (although that came primarily from walking Scottish Labour into a trap). As I think I said on here at the time about last years elections: Greens "won" because they trebled their MSPs. Lib Dems "won" because they held the islands and won constituency seats. Tories "won" because they won a whole bunch of seats. SNP won because they stay in government. Labour also took part in the election.

    The EU Referendum Hokey Cokey

Well, you know - there's council elections for all of Scotland in May and we'll have a better idea of how fed up or not the Scots are with the SNP then. In their 2011 landslide they got 45% of the vote, roughly over the two lists. Currently, Labour/Tory internal polling has the SNP on...45% for May. They might have lost some folk, but the flood of ex-Labour voters to SNP or Tories is covering that so far.
