I did check it. It took 3 mins to load here and no one else was in there when it opened up.

The second last spot. I named the person to my wife, and said "they're not likely to get a qualifying obit, are they? I mean in The Guardian or Daily Mail or the likes." Her reply was "Duh, of course (they) are. I've heard of them!" So I put them in the team, on the better half's advice.

Any last minute lists will be gratefully accepted. I'm thinking of tweaking the rules for next year so it's less of arduous thing for folk, but I'll mention that next November if I'm alive and remember it.
-
Right, instead of sitting here changing the team every few hours, it's been sent in.
-
Patricia Routledge too, I see.
-
I'd say far more famous than De Jong. De Jong famous for being old, essentially. Soares notable President in his time, also big name in the fight against Salazar and co. Telegraph obit nailed on, imo.
-
I listened to the "he should make 2017" talk in the Political Frailty thread. I'll accept those points, however!
-
I wonder if Mario lasts, if he'll sneak onto the Deathlist. Unlikely.
-
Freddie Boardley aged 66. Glasgow actor, was in Brookside for 2 years. Also the killer in an early Taggart, and in a whole bunch of other stuff.

He says you dated cheerleaders, I'd take that as a compliment myself.

He is to me, because I've never read any of those comics. I was a Beano and Dandy girl. Films, that sort of thing isn't really my cup of tea. I saw the first Superman film, but that's all I can think of. Is Superman one of his? Superman is DC not Marvel so not one of Stan's. None of us can claim to be the bellweather for deciding fame, but Marvel is such a huge organisation now it's originator has to be classed as famous. So he didn't even invent Superman? Pah. Stan Lee's Spiderman. He's better than Superman. Batman is better than all of them. That's as much comics as you can get from someone who only watched the Adam West Batman. Oh, Stan Lee apparently created the X-Men. My wife loves them. Probably due to Hugh Jackman.

Received and on the masterlist now. There's a very tight fight to get into the top 55 right now, which as there are currently more than 25 survivors from the current list in the top 50, might provide a few crucial spots.
-
Who was it in 2014? I'm honestly not finding it and I have been looking. Oh wait, Yosra El-Essawy was Egyptian. Well I'm a big racist. I misread the "Indian subcontinent" bit and thought you meant the Chinese dissident.
-
"Too big to miss" is limited to those who've been on 6 or more Deathlists, or those who are in the Queen/Pope/President class, imo. Others are in the "that's a bugger" category if they're missed. Anyhow, Stan Lee is in the 20-30 category - might stay on, might drop off. I'd drop him to keep others. Who knows what the Cmme will do?

Hoping for a debut for Ian St John.
-
Aye, but it could happen today or in 15 years, and keeping one person on the list all that time waiting for a fatal accident is a bit ghoulish. There'll be better candidates.
-
Same here. Mine was sent 3 days ago only, but I'm still kinda paranoid about not getting confirmation. I wouldn't worry, teams sent in later in the year tend to get the confirmation email in early January as TMIB has shitloads of processing to do on them.
-
Gregorio Alvarez, who was in 2nd place.
-
I'll concede 8 - I think it's egotistical to refer to yourself as intelligent, and I'm not a fan of cats. Cat O'Falk is fine, pet cats, not so much.
-
I sent mine in 3 days ago. One of them has died since, the useless sod. I guess the sub goes in automatically.
-
I mentioned one, and gcreptile nabbed a unique hit on the DDP with the other. Which was one of the calls of the season imo, as nearly every other top 20 team must have gone "yep, he's a goner, but no chance of an obit"...

I never thought I'd see a deadpool more confusing than the Kentucky Derby. I have now.
-
Drop: Pirsig, Gall, Chong, Deadly Doug, Mary Tyler Moore, Piggott, Gazza, Hawking, Randi, Dole, kissinger, Walker, Banks. I'd have dropped Clive James for being too alive until I saw that BBC interview a few weeks ago - he looked fucking hideous. As for Number One spot, I'd go straight there with Gord Downie, followed by the Queen and Tony Booth in the top three to make a statement of intent. My angle is slightly different from the Cmme's though.
-
I mentioned this in my post, but is there any possibility of the full list being posted, including rejects and stragglers and the number of points allocated? I'll put the usual up after the bells, but I put up a full list sometime in January when I have some spare time. The current one is full of my shorthand and entirely unreadable, so I'll make it more reader friendly.

And now, the shock is back on with new lists in, as a new entry leads Deathlist royal in the spot for first place by 30 points.
